A big BatBlog Congratulations to Martina "Tina" Webster who will be the new 1st district councilperson for the town of Sellersburg in January 2016. Tina who won the Rep. primary in May and the Dem.'s didn't caucus anyone for the fall election so Tina will take her seat at the beginning of the year. Tina is a bright, young, energetic lady who will make a fine public servant and is the type we need more of in local politics....Congratulations and Good Luck Tina !!!

ReplyDeleteFor Anon.1's snide remark...Tina as a first time candidate nearly beat an incumbent office holder with over 20 years in public service. I've been around a long time and that's as an impressive of a showing as I've ever seen around here for a candidate running for a major position in county government.

I think more public servants should make themselves available to the people via forums and blogs. I hope that Tina stays listening to to her constituents and disseminating information through any medium at her disposal.

As to the first anon - I won the primary in May so it's not like I just "walked" into a win.
ReplyDeleteI did hear the democrats had an opponent in mind but the deadline came and went with no one filing. So you'll have to ask them why.
