"Through A Child's Eyes" by HT

 Most of us remember Christmas from our childhood eyes as a magical, enchanted, exciting  time of the year and experience. The excitement from the anticipation of the arrival of Santa Claus through a child's eyes on Christmas Eve is unlike any experience or feeling that we would ever have. Christmas, because we were children seemed like it took forever to arrive and the time between Christmas's seemed like eternities. Even after we discover that Mom and Dad were really Old Saint Nick, Christmas was still so very, very special. The gifts, good food, times with cousins and other relatives that come together make it seem the most special of times and occasions   Little did we realize as children the stress that Christmas can bring out in families

and loved ones during this  very special time of the year. 

    Only as we journey into adulthood and experience Christmas from a wiser, more discerning age and eyes that we realize why our Uncle George so many years ago,who was so jolly during our Christmas gala, but then fell asleep in Grandpa's chair afterwards, wasn't just tired from Christmas like Mommy said , but he was passed out drunk. And while most family members were in good spirit (natural or bottled), there was always some tension that  we as children and through children's eyes we didn't pick up on.

  Yes unfortunately  and in these times more than in days of yore  for a lot of families specifically the adults the Yuletide brings  lots of stress and tension. Making sure gifts are bought, spending money when it is tight, fighting crowds, trying to make things perfect all these things put pressure  to the point where sometimes Christmas for some isn't that enjoyable and at times even depressing.

 While for the most part my Christmases have always been enjoyable. I can now relive Christmas again through a child's eyes, my grandchildren. Just as I at a young age and later my children I can experience the wonder, the sparkle, the innocence that only a child brings to us.

So as we near another holiday season,  whether your single or married, whether you have children or grandchildren or even if you have none, the best wish I can have for you is to enjoy Christmas through a child's eyes even if it's your inner child .

  The BatBlog in coordination with GAW News Bureau has obtained exclusive pictures of the recent Democrat's Annual Christmas party as documented earlier by YMC  Democrat's Annual Christmas Party. All the power brokers and old dog campaigners were in attendance, sharing old war stories of elections past. As in years past TG played Santa Claus for all the young Democrats. JP  was seen working the room for votes trying to magically find support for the Clark Co. Commissioner's position (where he amassed 17% of the vote in the 2010 primary). KV was there explaining how he would have won the Jeff Mayoral Primary" if he only had a political machine." But all in all a good time was had by all.......

Newly elected Clarksville Councilman Paul Fetter has submitted a proposal to reduce the cost of the Ky-Ind. Bridge project by 500 million dollars. Completion date for Mr. Fetters proposal is 2056 coinciding with the first manned space trip to Mars.

According to the GAW News Bureau http://gawnews.com/?p=988  "Toxic" John Perkins is the front runner to replace the vacated County Commissioner position vacated by Mike Moore. Toxic John should feel right in place with the other Democratic clowns that currently occupy the County Council , Attorney and Commissioner's offices. HT predicts another severe Democratic beatdown in the 2012 election with  Obama (who isn't very popular in Clark Co. anyway) leading the ticket. Obama and Perkins a combination that will drag Democrats into depths never before imagined in Clark Co.

     Didn't Toxic John recently lose a  precinct chairmanship or something in Otisco or some other burg and now he wants to be a Commissioner that he pulled a whopping 17% in the 2010 primary. For the next several nights HT will analyze the recent local elections. Unfortunately HT wasn't available for his award winning  Election Eve Special, but will provide hard hitting analysis and go over all the races  and answer questions about the recent trends in Clark Co. politics









Jeffersonville Mayors Race
Tom Galligan seemed to have the perfect situation, incumbent, huge amount of money to spend on campaign, no state or national races, which usually brings a larger turnout, and  traditionally a position won by Democrat's, and an opponent that switched parties Dem. to Rep. at the last minute..

So what happened ???  What went wrong ????  Why is Mike Moore now Mayor elect of Jeffersonville ???

Top 10 reasons Galligan lost and Mike Moore won
1.) Mike Moore and his team simply outworked the Galligan team. Walking door to door  to a lot of households, Mike got out his message and it's the one the voters wanted to hear, Fiscal Responsibility. Galligan spent money like a drunken sailor trying to impress the electorate with new projects, the poorly conceived and expensive Canal, a new Riverstage, an overkill, unnecessary 10th St. landscaping job on the medians, a new expensive ball park which in the process destroyed a beautiful nature setting park,  etc

  These Projects are fine in times when the economy is flourishing, but Galligans timing was terrible, families are struggling, homes being lost and the taxpayers felt and rightfully so that THEIR money was financing these Projects and in times when people are doing without just to get by. Especially the recently annexed residents who saw their taxes raise after being told they wouldn't

Mayor elect Mike Moore

Congratulations to Mike Moore new Mayor of Jeffersonville. A new day has risen. The recently annexed citizens came out in force and decided if they were forced to be a part of Jeffersonville, they would have a say so in who would lead them. Mr. Moore worked hard to get his message out, and it was heard. I think you will notice a refreshing change in Jeffersonville leadership as Mike will listen not dictate before making  decisions.With the influx of some young, new members of the Jeffersonville City Council things look promising in Jeffersonville indeed. It's a refreshing change to see these young and future leaders get involved in local politics and have the younger generation's political voice be heard. No longer will be told what is best for for us,  now the People can be heard and listened to....

Goliath's Coliseum Forum

  Sorry big Guy but HT calls them like he sees them. Your GCF (Goliath's Coliseum Forum) has become a dog and pony show. You've allowed a certain faction to dominate to the point were it is becoming embarrassing not to mention vulgar and crude at times. In his effort to be fair, and provide an uncensored forum the Mighty Warrior seems to be sometimes intimidated by those he has been so  kind to and invite into his Coliseum. His constant reminders to be considerate and fair with no personal attacks fall on the deaf ears of many of his guests..... The GAW blog has the  been a home for a classy blend of humor, arts and commentary, unfortunately the same class can't be extended to the Coliseum. Don't get me wrong there are good people that enter the Coliseum unfortunately they are over shadowed by a few out spoken to the point of domineering. Score this one a defeat for the mighty Warrior.....

Pesty Flannigan - Unappreciated ???

  The BatBlog has unnamed sources that Pesty Flannigan local bon vivant, political analyst, dancer is upset, discouraged and possibly even depressed with his diminished role at GAW. While working at HT's Batblog, Pesty flourished both professionally and personally actually even sharing top billing with HT on the award winning BatBlog. Though he was let go by HT for a disagreement on the local Canal issue it was a bittersweet parting.
   HT's sources say Pesty has been seen over indulging in alcohol and leaving local bars  late into the early morning alone. Petsy's role has been delegated to only an occasional role as a part-time political commentator and has been upstaged the new Pesty Ver.II and Goliath's Coliseum Forum. PestyVer.II has replaced Pesty as  Goliath's promoter and poster on the CCC even though Pesty brought Goliath into the limelight. Sources say Pesty isn't happy with the direction GAW Enterprises is going and feels unappreciated, underused, and he hasn't even been out dancing in months....

HT says hang in there little buddy one day the Big Guy will realize it was the little people like you that took him to the top and he shouldn't forget his old friends like you have been to him....
