An interesting race is set up for the Jeff City Council at Large (3) positions this November. A diverse array of incumbents and newcomers with 3 of these men already sitting on the current council vying for the 3 at large positions. Two of the current councilmen Steve Webb (R) current 6th Dist councilman and incumbent Nathan Samuel (D) get the endorsement of the BatBlog along with Democrat Ron Ellis.
The BatBlog has been highly critical of the current city council but we feel Samuel and Webb are two of the more solid members though who we would like to see them exert more leadership qualities than just voting with the status quo. Ron Ellis will give the council some diversity that it needs...
The other incumbent Matt Owen(R) has shown little after his gimmicky candidacy and election 4 years ago and it's time for him to go. His main and maybe only contribution in 4 years was the ridiculous idea to eliminate Jeffersonville city court . Most people see Owen as a lapdog for GOP chair and Clark Co. sheriff Jamey Noel and any idea to turn the chairmanship of the local Rep. party to Owen would be a foolish one....
Name recognition which is so important in local politics could still get Owen elected and newcomer Josh Rodriquez is campaigning hard and could be in the mix. Steve Cooley (R) the final candidate will probably be a non factor. This could be close for the three slots, but the BatBlog feels Webb, Ellis and Samuel are the best choices and will win but Owen on name alone will be in the mix...
Tell me something good about Webb. I don't know anything bad about him. Nothing stands out one way or another.
ReplyDeleteSteve is a common sense business guy. While he may not be a great speaker, he more than makes up for that weakness with good decisions. I predict, SAMUAL FIRST, RODRIGUEZ, THEN WEBB. ELIMINATING GOOFY OWENS.
ReplyDeleteI predict White, Ed Z, Vissing, Gill, Maples, Hawkins, at large Samual, Rodriguez, Webb.
ReplyDeleteYeah Rodriquez is working hard and Anon. is right , Steve Webb is a down to earth guy not like some of the others on the council who have a self exaggerated sense of importance. Owen is more suited to bussing tables....he looks like a fool and lost puppy dog following Noel around...
ReplyDeleteIt seems like every photo opportunity Matt is at Moore's side
ReplyDeleteWhite, Zastawny, Jahn, Fetz, Maples, Hawkins.
ReplyDeleteAt large Owen, Webb, and the third slot up for grabs.
Samuel will have the edge for that spot
although Ellis is really coming on and
Rodriquez has a lot of support.
The possibility exists for a
Republican near sweep of the races with only Conlin and White surviving
as the face of Democrat politics in the City of Jeffersonville.
The BatBlog will go into more detail and give endorsements on each race later but it looks like.....
ReplyDeleteDist.1 White (D)
Dist.2 "Moe" Zastawny (R)
Dist.3 Jahn (R)
Dist.4 Maples (R)
Dist.5 Gill (R)
Dist.6 Hawkins (R)
At Large Samuel(D) Webb (R) Ellis(D)
"Moe". lol.
ReplyDeleteWhere is the picture of the soccer team?
ReplyDeleteYes, H-T does have an entertaining sense of humor.
ReplyDeleteI am glad he got rid of those stalkers too. The full moon really had them going.
THE WINNERS! Julius, Conlin, White, Z, Vissing, Gill, Maples, Hicks, Samual, Webb, Ellis
ReplyDeleteMoe pad's everyone's accuracy rates.
ReplyDeleteSo lame.
White may not be a sure bet. Party activists were the recruiters of Plan B.
Jahn!
Gill!
Ellis!
Conlin!
PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD Josh and Nathan GET YOUR VOTERS OUT.
ReplyDeleteI think these two will be top vote getters and can possibly carry Ellis in IF they can drive their voters to the polls. Otherwise you're looking at Matt Owen again.
White will take District 1.
Is anyone even running against Maples?
Gill stays.
Unless they find a dead girl or a live boy in his trunk, Moore is probably safe.
Josh and Nathan might carry Ellis? That's ridiculous and an insult to a community elder. Ron has a lot more name recognition and time in than Josh Rodriguez.
ReplyDeleteNO MOORE OWEN! NO MOORE OWEN! NO MOORE OWEN!
ReplyDeleteRodriquez is a fake...What a joke!
ReplyDeleteMatt Owen holds the inside out pocket of Jamey Noel! He has been handed every thing by Jamey Noel. Don't let his "Firefighter" job fool you. It's just a ploy to make him look like he has worked hard to get where he is at. Matt Owen wouldn't know hard work if it hit him in the face. Matt Owen will talk the talk all day long, but when it comes to actually walking the walk, he turns his head and runs the other way. What has Matt Owen actually accomplished or done for the City of Jeff? If you look close enough, the answer will be absolutely nothing. Matt Owen is all of the sudden best friends with Mike Moore because he needs to look good to get more votes. Matt Owen has rode the coat tails of Jamey Noel and Mike Moore long enough. It is time for his ride to come to an end. He needs to learn what it is like to earn and accomplish something on his own. It is time to quit wasting money on politicians who are only in it for a title and paycheck. We need to vote for candidates who truly want the best for the City of Jeff and its residents.
ReplyDeleteHas someone messed with the Poll again as very large increase in Democrat votes all of sudden...
ReplyDeleteDoes maples have any opposition? If he does you wouldn't know it. I'm sure it doesn't matter anyway. Who do you vote for the guy that try's to win (maples) or some nameless guy.
ReplyDeleteMaples knocked on my door and talked to me and I appreciated it.
A lot of people seem to be voting Democrat on the poll! Could the momentum switch yet again back to the Democratic party in Jeffersonville? Brett Wilson is ahead of Dustin White by a landslide. Albert Frazier is stomping a mud hole on Scottie Maples. Keith Fetz is losing but that's no surprise there. Fetz is used to being a loser. And Matt Owen Noel Jr. is in dead last among the other At-Large candidates! Holy Horses Batman!!! What is going on???
ReplyDeleteYeah the BatBlog had a huge surge in page views yesterday not sure what's going on... Last year Jamey Noel and Spainhour supporters sent out e-mails to come here and vote for the sheriff's race....It's possible for a few or one person to manipulate the vote, if you don't have a life and want to vote multiple times it's possible...but it's all in fun anyway and it is what it is.....
ReplyDeleteSad that someone would take the time to sabotage these polls and then post in excitement. ^
ReplyDeleteOh well, it is somewhat entertaining to observe the ignorance.
Looks like the absentee ballots came in.
ReplyDeleteSince this poll was obviously compromised, is there another local poll worth checking? Is there a way to set up polls so 200 votes can't be dumped in?
ReplyDeleteWould be interesting to see what the uncompromised results would be in the last couple of weeks before the elections, and how poll results compare to the actual vote counts.
H-T, the early Bat Blog poll seemed to be right on track as always.
ReplyDeleteCan it be re-set to before the 200 plus vote "hack attack".
If it is re-set to that point and begun again with better security,
it will still give us a good picture.
The R and D camps in Jeffersonville
have both polled and both show
the results making one party
up by quite a bit
in many races.
The Bat Blog poll before it was hacked,
showed about three to four Democrats winning in the council races.
That three seat range was probably fairly accurate.
Fetz and White were polling
well ahead of the Republican near sweep in the districts.
The close race for the at-large slots was competitive
among the top five contestants.
It is a shame someone was so NASTY and rigged the poll.
That lowlife hacker looks criminally stupid.
The Bat Blog poll was fun to check.
You should file a complaint
and see if the criminal
can be charged.
The IP address can be determined even if masked.
I've been doing a little research over at the CCC. (SHOCK!)
ReplyDeleteDo you realize that both Samuel and Vissing were/are canal supporters?
I had forgotten myself. I re-posted the entire list over there.

Webb is a great business minded individual. Exactly what the city needs!!
ReplyDeleteWhat I find ironic about Rodriquez is that he talks about responsibility, accountability, loyalty, leadership, being a father...blah..blah..blah...This fake has been lying from day one!! He has a daughter that he has never claimed, hes not taken ANY responsibility for, nor mentioned in his politicing, and his wages are being garnished for non payment of child support. I've known this guy for many years, even went to school with him. I've been a life long resident of Jeffersonville. This is and will always be my home, but this guy will NOT get my vote, nor my wife's vote. Not a leader I want in my district!!
