The Men Who Would Be Kings ... King Bob I

Let them eat cake...
Unfortunately sometimes politicians with successful political  careers and campaigns get a self exaggerated sense of importance, influence and power. Most of the time due to the checks and balances  our government instills,  these individual powers are mostly contained, but that doesn't keep a few from still trying...The BatBlog identifies these as, Men who would be Kings and tonight we will touch on one.

While The BatBlog isn't totally informed about the situation in Charlestown In. and King Bob Hall I, a reader tuned us on to the situation. Apparently King Bob wants a certain section of Charlestown bulldozed and replaced with better housing, in the process and apparently aimed at this section the King and his court of City council henchmen have drawn up ordinances that the BatBlog feels is unfair, abusive, beyond the scope of what a mayor (or in this case King) or council should be able to do and frankly unconstitutional...
Criminal activity in Charlestown ???

The "Public Nuisance" ordinance passed yesterday includes... No feeding stray cats or dogs and residents must pay their utility bills in a timely manner... "habitual" violators can be fined  ranging from $500- $2500. If the violation isn't addressed the property owners home can be declared unfit for habitation and an order to vacate issued...

So we guess if you throw a poor dog a bone or forget to pay your gas bill on time King Bob is going to throw you to the street.  If this wasn't so absurd it would actually be funny...What great legal mind drew up this ordinance ???  Why that would be City Attorney Mike "The Hammer" Gillenwater who at an earlier meeting said for the worst offenders we need a bigger hammer....

Not only is King Bob I lowering the "hammer", he doesn't want to hear any complaining from the peasants either. City council rules have been changed so the peasant serfs have to give notice in order to be heard from, and you must state what you will talk about if and only if you are granted an audience with the King and his jesters at City Council meetings.
Rightful punishment for a peasant serf...

King Bob is obviously living in the wrong time, he should have been born in medieval days of yore when flogging and placing lawbreakers in a stock in the middle of the town square was more appropriate for those so callous to feed a stray animal and slow paying their bills ...

  1. You would think cops would have better things to do in Ctown than watch for dog feeders and check on who is late paying their electric bill.

  2. Won't the ordinance apply to all C-town residents?

  3. You're my hero!!

Btw, the peasants have to tell the king's henchmen what agenda item they're going to talk about the day before they know what is on the agenda.

King Bob can't handle hearing the king is naked...and... it appears....cold.

  4. Sure the ordinance will be supposedly be the same for all but probably not enforced in the nicer parts of town LOL....Going to be a lot of skinny strays in Charlestown...And will King Bob install a hot line to Duke Energy and Indiana Cities water to nail all those late payers ???

  5. A great example of too much interference by government, I can't believe the people of charlestown will put up with much control in their lives.

  7. This makes me angry as hell. As a fellow Republican I can honestly say King Bob needs to go. I only wish I lived in Charlestown, I would run against him in a heart beat. This kind of arrogance needs to be stopped.

    Thanks Riverfool

  8. It would appear that the voters of Charlestown are quite happy with the way things are being run. Hence, Hall's reelection.

  9. Utility companies will not give out information on late or disconnected utilities. HT, I believe that is a municipal water company in Charlestown. Not Indiana American.

  10. Yeah Kevin I thought so...That's whats so absurd about this whole government intrusion , they pass this ordinance and in effect have no way to enforce it...

  11. Charlestown had the chance to elect an intelligent and compassionate mayoral candidate who has outstanding communication, team-building, and facilitation skills as their mayor. Unfortunately, they passed on that opportunity. This, along with brown tap water, is what Charlestown has instead of what they could have had.

    1. JS is a nice guy, but is not that intelligent. I believe he was in over his head. No executive experience at all. Again, a very likeable guy.

  16. Bob Hall and friends and their abuse of a segment of Charlestown. Calling them out and ridiculing them is a great start but it would be nice to actually make the assholes quit wiping their butts with the first amendment and abusing a segment of the city. There are people wanting to respond to Hall and friends actions. I'm collecting suggestions.
