Help Save Clark Co.

HT wants to declare a temporary truce in the Blog Wars (which the Batblog seems to be winning) in order to join up with Goliath and GAW and other local bloggers and help save Clark Co. Goliath has posted some impressive ideas at  http://goliathandwimmens.blogspot.com/2011/08/goliath-solve-county-financial-problem.html and HT challenges other local bloggers to join Goliath and I and save our beloved County. HT has come up with some ideas and with your and our input we can solve this thing, and not allow Clark Co. to become laughing stock of the whole state.

HT's Ideas

**Have a County Aid Concert - Bring in Willie Nelson  of Farmaid fame,and other big artists, cut down the rest of Vissing Park and have a huge Woodstock type concert all proceeds going to the county.

**Have Jeff annex whole Co. - Jeffersonville's always bragging about having so much money let them annex CC and share the wealth...reduces the need for the Clark County politicians , Jeff becomes one of the biggest cities in the state a win, win proposition.

** Charge an entry fee on all County Political offices - Just like in the Kentucky Derby .If you want cushy government job put up an entry fee to be entered into the race. Also have all potential candidates take a rudimentary Economics class. Economics 101, you can't spend more money than you take in. If you fail class you are disqualified from Co. office. (This would probably disqualify 75% of current office holders)

** Form Voluntary Sheriff's Dept. - Issue badges, uniforms ,portable sirens , and official looking seals to paste on their own vehicles, No firearms (sorry Quasar). Hundreds would volunteer just for the chance to wear uniform and carry badge. Don't tell them they have no actual police powers. The volumes of all these volunteers on the street would reduce crime, jail overcrowding and reduce need for real paid cops.

**Adopt an Inmate Program -  For a nominal fee allow citizens to adopt an inmate. To do everyday chores, mow the grass, etc. for bigger projects building sheds, garages, hire a crew of inmates. Another win, win proposition, inmates get fresh air, exercise and good meals. The husband doesn't have to listen to nagging wife about chores. Wives get to boss around someone who has to actually listen (inmate)or they get sent back to jail. (Violent and sex offenders not eligible.)

** Multitask County Employees - Utilize manpower to the maximum, if somebody from one Dept. calls in sick or vacation day. Send out a Commissioner, Council member, Co.Attorney etc. to fill in let them see what it's like to actually work. Allow a sanitation or highway worker to fill in for absent Commissioner, Council or attorney. Make a versatile, efficient workforce...

** Create a Red Light District (ala Amsterdam) - Put it in a isolated area as not to offend some residents,  create a red light tax for only monies spent in that Dist. and watch the money roll in. Nothing sells like Sex, God, and Rock and Roll

** Improve our public image - HT googled Clark County Indiana (images) and looked who popped up not William Clark who Clark Co. named after (Lewis and Clark) but this dude (at right) who urinated onchairs at CC Court House.
