Congratulations to Quasar, 2013's "Most Pitiful Poster" of the local internet. A last minute surge boosted Quasar to victory over HT and last years winner and perennial contender NHBSM. The final vote totals are to the right, the Big Q winning with 47% of the vote. Still hard to believe "Toxic John" Perkins Clark Co. Commissioner...Probably the most disliked, most distrusted  the biggest pariah in local politics sits in one of the top positions of County government. No matter that "ToxicJohn" hasn't won any type of election in what how many years. Yet the Democratic caucus with out any consideration for the main stream rank and file voter appointed "Toxic John" as Commissioner. So now we have the least respected most vilified politician of our time sitting in a Co. Commissioner's seat.  Clark Co. politics you gotta love it......

Even though his appointment was a couple of years ago, the fact Perkins remains in his position today is completely  amazing and makes our Top Ten list.....

   2013 found the virtual disappearance of the Oracle's Lounge from the internet. The Oracle slithered away into the insignificant  rock or hole he crawled out from. The only loss is to his 3 or 4 followers (groupies) who salivated over every word  he muttered from his sleazy web site. The Oracle reveled over every personal and professional misstep of Jeffersonville's mayor printing silly school boy , personal, sexual innuendos as he delighted in people's personal misfortunes. The Oracle never really added anything of any substance to the internet world so with that we say "Good bye and good riddance."

NHBSM  by virtue of his overwhelming victory in the 2012 MPP award is back to defend his title...The ultimate flip flopper NH Mike continued his personal attack on the mayor. Same mayor that NH had us believe was the next coming of  Abraham Lincoln prior to the election. After NH was canned from his appointed position suddenly MM became the worst mayor ever. This is second straight Mayor NH has dissed after being passed over for a position. Any political candidate beware of NH's support it is fragile at best and comes with conditions...

The "Hood"

The Hood  or any of his many aliases (Synonmous I&II, Lono, Southern Belle etc.), while the Hood puts out some good stuff, he inundates GAW with a mountains  of boring material...C'mon Hood less quantity and more Quality

Debbie the anti everything American and Government basher has been pushing her spiel for several years on forums and The News/Tribune. Debbie would like us to be in a science fiction, no government society where everybody is happy, rich and sit around and sing "Kumbaya". A Bedford "Classic" is his recent solution on the CCC to the immigration problem in the U.S. ..to  allow anyone convicted of murdering an illegal alien to be released from prison. Need I say more... Only positive, Bedford and his mom provide some timely restaurant reviews on the Chatter...

Goliath shamelessly continues to exploit his "sock puppets" Pesty I and II to peddle his opinions and to promote his website and cheap trinkets made in third world countries by child labor, that he sells for ungodly prices....

HT Comment - A Former CCC Moderator Speaks Out

   I received a comment yesterday from a former well respected moderator and current member of the CCC (Clark County Chatter) relating some of his own problems with Administrator Quasar (Big Q), and how he was unfairly called out and called names. He was very supportive of me, wished me well in a very nice message which included his  real name and email address. I just wanted to thank him publicly, he asked not to publish his comments and like several others that have sent  messages through the comments area and made the same request. I will honor his  and your wishes...

  He was particularly disturbed that Big Q posted his message of calling me out as a "bully" but locked the topic from any member comment. That's another thing that always disturbed me about the Chatter as well, the Administrator could at their own discretion ban a member but wouldn't allow any member's comments, input, or opinion or relate why the member was banned. I was given several warnings for merely inquiring about a banned member particularly Jules, Pesty, YMC (young Matt Chinn)....Isn't it ironic that the Big Q who rants everyday about government control and tyranny by the Obama administration, runs the Chatter with an iron fist of a maniacal dictator and tyrant he is, and disallows comments because of the coward and liar he is. Members are not allowed any opinions  on the very members that make the Chatter what it is....

Again Thank You for the kind message(s), and I would encourage anyone no matter who or what their opinion is to message me in the "Comments" area at the bottom of the page. Your wishes for anonymity or publishing your remarks will be respected, just say at the bottom of the message "do not publish" I love hearing from you....The BatBlog is a Democracy not a dictatorship like the Chatter, where your opinions are welcomed, heard and matter....

The Haven House - HT's Take...

 
                                                                               

    The Haven House once again is back in the news over unpaid sewer bills spanning over several years. This is just one of several controversies including a  non payment of withholding taxes on payroll from a couple of years back. OK here's my take on the HH, I 've said before Barbara Anderson the director is dang near a saint for devoting her life and energy to this cause of homelessness. With that being said Ms. Anderson's management and decision making skills seem to be lacking. Her refusal to allow an audit of her organization and chosen non-payment of essential and required costs associated with running her service to the homeless is to me disturbing.

I'm not sure of Ms. Anderson's reasoning about her non actions on the above mentioned issues, but in my opinion she is hurting her credibility. Any organization that relies on contributions from the public, has to have 100% trust from those that support their endeavor. Many would be donors, myself included have serious doubts and concerns about Ms. Anderson's actions and inactions. She is most entitled to manage the HH as she sees fit, but I have I wonder about Ms. Anderson's judgement here, and she may in effect may be hurting the one's she strives to help the most, the homeless...

On a related note, it didn't take long for one of our local politicians to see a great publicity and political

opportunity concerning the HH. After the City Council Ok'ed a measure that would allow water shutoff to households (including the HH) with unpaid sewer charges, Councilman and mayoral candidate Dennis Julius started a charitable fund to aid the Haven House's back non payment fees. Mr. Julius' intentions may be honorable but he didn't waste time in creating some nice publicity and photo op's . I assume it was just coincidental that a N/T news photographer just happened to be in the sewer office and caught Mr. Julius in the act of handing over the first check from the fund....Jeffersonville Politics you got to love it !!!

 I especially liked this one the Big Q is donating money to the asshole baker who wouldn't bake a wedding cake for a gay couple's wedding . What's the old saying " A fool and his money are soon parted." I'm sure Q donated money to old George Zimmerman too. Which ole George used to settle up with his ex wife he knocked around.....Money well spent there Q , you could have gotten you an official Dittohead T-shirt or cap instead....

  But for my personal path, I have to feel like I'm fighting with a certain percentage of hope.  If ZERO Republicans were principled, I would definitely consider a different party.  But there are plenty of them that are, and they are in office too.  I hope and will work to get more of them elected.  And for those reading this that agree with me - STEP UP and stop sitting on the sidelines.
