The News/Tribune is reporting a Clark Co. jail inmate was removed from jail to help move a mattress and television from Judge Jerry Jacobi's rental property CLICK HERE to be taken to a local halfway house. While this is probably a bad practice to have inmates in this case a trustee doing favors for elected officials , it was a only two items and only took a short time to move them, and they were donated. The BatBlog will give Jacobi a pass on this one, according to Joe Renck who works for the probation office and supervised the inmate to assist him move the items, Jacobi was unaware the inmate was used and Renck did it as a personal favor for Jacobi.
If this was just an isolated incident and Mr. Renck is telling the complete truth about how it went down, this seems pretty much a non story. If there is more to the story and anyone knows about it please contact the BatBlog at hoosiertaxpayer@outlook.com. In the past several people have informed the BatBlog of alleged misconduct and inconsistencies in the probation dept. and if this is a case of that here we would like to hear about it.
Nice try News/Tribune but not much of a story here, though you have to wonder why Jacobi hung up on the reporter who wanted to ask him for a comment on the story.
*** Note to the N/T if you really want a story, push Clark Co. prosecutor Steve Stewart for comments and an explanation on the recent murder case where the defendants bond was reduced allowing him to go free...and kill again...
Do not trust renck.
ReplyDeleteWhy is someone who works for the probation office taking jail inmates out to do community service? Why would he not take out people who are on probation, which is his job. Why not just get one of the many people staying at the halfway house to help, instead of a jail inmate? If Renck was not claiming time, but rather making up time he worked the prior weekend, why did he not just put the time he realy worked on his time sheet on the day he really worked. He said it was ok because the property went to a. Halfway house. Well if I want to clean out my garage and donate it to goodwill will Mr. Renck come get it for me? Cover up, plain and simple.
ReplyDeleteAnon. it could very well be a cover up, that's why I published the story for readers input.
ReplyDeleteThere seems to be an underlying mistrust in a lot of circles including judicial of the effectiveness and actions of the probation offices.
My only contention was on the face of it without more facts the N/T story doesn't prove much....but I'm open to others input....
Joe "dirty deeds done dirt cheap" Renck will eventually bring down the Clark Co. Democratic party. People are on to him and he is watched constantly.Apparently he can take prisoners out of the jail at will. Talk about a security breach. Apparently all he needs to do is tell the officer that inmate of the day has returned. Whoops, we forgot to search that inmate. With such lax security its no wonder that the jail is full of dope. Just interview any inmate who was recently released from the place. They will tell you the truth. Its a real stink-hole.
ReplyDeleteIf you worked on the weekend why would you then claim that time in the middle of the week, but only acknowledge that it was make up time from the prior weekend. Time sheets usually have weekends on them. Sounds like he got caught with his pants down and had to make something up. I heard he was riding on a float in a parade that weekend and then latter seen in the county truck putting up webers campaign signs. I guess that's community service too.
ReplyDeleteHe probably hung up on the reporter because this story is such a non-issue it isn't worth talking to the media about.
ReplyDeleteSounds like he hung up as soon as he heard it was a reporter...never gave the reporter a chance to say what he's calling about..
ReplyDeleteGreat example of transparency and cooperation by a true public servant ...
sarcasm added
ReplyDeleteThe real story is the abuse and lack of oversight at the probation department. Good example of why Carmichael refuses to use the work release program funded by the state. If the state controls it, she doesn't have the ability for her and her buddies to abuse work release like she can probation.
ReplyDeleteJoe Renck.... The ghost of Steve Fleece
ReplyDeleteThe Chatter reports that Joe DDDDC Renck is the campaign manager for Brian Meyer. Surly the post was to be taken as satire, I hope! Can is possibly get any stranger? Maybe if Meyer wins he will appoint DDDDC as a deputy. Good God, they all need to go.
ReplyDeleteI don't think joe can count
ReplyDeleteIt has been said that JR was good at counting money orders.
ReplyDeleteYou mean like, one for me, one for you and then one to charity?
ReplyDeleteUhhhh, dude your vote poll is not working right unless you mean for it to count every vote as Demecrat regardless of who you actually pick. Thought you would want to know.
ReplyDeleteI talked to Jerry from Jerry's Place and he stated he has no idea whats this is about and that he is never got or asked for any items. Also The personal truck Mr. Renck used is not person but a County Vehicle he never turns in so I guess it's personal....
ReplyDeleteSo if Renck works for judge Weber and was allowed to go move this property for judge Jacobi I would think this would mean the two judges have at least some type of casual relationship. This makes me wonder why judge Weber was then allowed to be the one to appoint the special prosecutor in the drug court case, which just happens to be run by judge Jacobi? So, I am sure someone here can give us non legal typs a reason why this was permissible? In my thoughts if you need an outside prosecutor, would you not also want an outside judge? Food for thought.
ReplyDeleteBecause the entire investigation is a cover up scam. All the state police can do is present the info. to the prosecutor who will then find no criminal misdeeds have been committed. Just shows that Judges are above the law. No wonder few have respect for the legal system.
ReplyDeleteIf the furniture didn't go to Jerrys Place then WTF??? Where did it really go and what really happened that day? Where did Joe Renck and inmate go?
ReplyDeleteMaybe we the people need to push for term limits and shorter terms for judges. If a sheriff's term is only four years why is a judges six? A bad judge can do a lot of damage in six years compared to what a bad sheriff can do in four.
ReplyDeleteJust saw the WHAS news report on the Sheriff releasing the inmate to this Renck person. Is the Sheriff as stupid as he appears? Does he not have a clue what the hell the trustees are used for? Charity my butt. Who supervises Renck. Does he just run buck wild in the court house. The public is obviously being played as a bunch of fools. The voters need to take action on this situation now.
ReplyDeleteAfter the interview on channel 11 Meyer can give up any hope he has of being sheriff. Said he had no ideal what the inmate was going to be used for, but yet let someone that does not work for his department take control of him? You have to be kidding me. Then has the audacity to say "I'd do it again"?. In the. Video of Jerry's place there is a truck and a van in the driveway. Why could they not have been used to move the furniture? If Jacobi knew nothing about it who,the hell, told or asked Renck to move it and how,did he get the keys to get in?. All I can say is liar, liar, liar pants on fire.
ReplyDeleteAt least Meyer said next time he would not use inmates... He said he would Sheriff dept employees to move furniture.....
ReplyDeleteI wasn't sure whom to vote for in the Sheriff's race.. At least now I know who I am not voting for.
How could I vote for a Sheriff, that says he would use his employees to move furniture for people?
Did I miss something?
Does Renck run wild all over the court house. The answer is yes.... Not only does he do what he wants when he wants, he wll park his County (personal) truck in all kinds of no parking zones wiht out a care He also has by the way he has a county credit card to pay for his gas and who knows what else. I have personally seen Renck place political signs for Judge Weber using his person county truck..
ReplyDeleteWhich is it , county or personal?
ReplyDeleteIt is his personal county issued truck. Several people have seen him out in his county truck putting out weber signs. I bet he is also on the county time clock when doing so.
ReplyDeleteBoy oh boy!!! Watching that interview with Meyer just made me laugh. I wanted to ask the same question as to whether he was as stupid as he looked and the interview answered that question loud and clear. And Renck runs amuck in the court house. Don't think I've actually ever seen him work.
ReplyDeleteSomeone needs to get pictures when they see county employees in county vehicles on the county clock doing campaign work.
ReplyDeleteWho would you give them too. Which democratic judge or prosecutor would do anything. Truth is joe works for the Democratic Party and the county just pays him for it.
ReplyDeleteGive them to the newspapers, give them to HT, post them on Chatter. Send them to his boss via email and post the email so everyone knows he knows. If the taxpayers are subsidizing the Democrat Party to the extent alleged, they deserve to know about it and work to change it.
ReplyDeleteThey can vote to change it, just vote Republican and get the good ol boys out of office.
ReplyDeleteYeah just e-mail me the pictures...I'll post them and make sure all the media outlets, newspapers and tv get them as well...
ReplyDeleteRenck has no job. He has no community service case load. He has multiple supervisers and judges who cover for him. He spends his day with his bully buddies in the probation office. Mostly bullying women. Not a rumor, it's well documented. People in Clark CO. are no longer afraid of him. You would think one class action lawsuit in Clark Co would get someone's attention. It happened in Circuit II and its going to happen in Circuit III. AND the judge wants to give him a $4000 raise. Holy Bat Shit Robin! Say its not true!
ReplyDeleteLots of Jamey Noel people on here trashing Brian Meyer.
ReplyDeletePolitics in Clark County. Meyer is 'stupid'...that tells you all you need to know about the writer...
Not sure anyone needs to "trash" Brian Meyer he's probably a non factor in the sheriff's race...
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand he did come across pretty inept in the tv interview...
I personally have done community service for Joe Renck numerous times as a Drug Court requirement (30-40 times). The process consists of you meeting Joe in the Probation Department hallway at 8:30am. He writes your name and the date in a spiral notebook, returns the notebook to his office, then you walk outside to his big blue Dodge Ram truck that he illegally parks in the "NO PARKING ZONE" on the west side of the courthouse building every day. You can ride with him in his truck if you don't have a vehicle or drive yourself and follow him to Community Kitchen on Spring St. He drops you off there and you don't see him again at all that day. Many would just leave after he drives off, some would actually serve the community. Still, Joe would give you credit for 8 hrs. community service for that day regardless of how much/little you actually worked (even if you didn't work at all) and advises the courts that you've completed X-hours of community service. If Community Kitchen doesn't need volunteers, he takes you to Center for Lay Ministries on Maple St. and leaves you there.
ReplyDeleteJoe Renck has my dream job!!! Write 2-3 names in a notebook, drive 5 mins away to drop people off, do whatever you want for the rest of the day, and collect a "Director of Community Service" paycheck.
It's a COMPLETE waste of our tax money giving this man a county vehicle and paying him to "work" 30 mins a day (if that), then spend the rest of his time moving furniture for his buddies, putting campaign signs up for them, and falsifying his time cards.
We need to initiate ***CLARK COUNTY COURTHOUSE CLEANUP 2014©*** when the voting polls open up. : ))
Why could you just not drive directly to the place you are doing community service yourself and then that place could give you like a receipt for the number of hours you did and you could then just simply give it to your probation officer then next time you saw them? Seems like it would be simpler and would cut out the expensive middle man with the take home truck, and people would know for sure the work was performed. Perhaps. Don't know enough about the legal system but I would think keeping track f that would be your probation officers job anyway?
ReplyDeletewow anonymous' narrative of what happens during community service needs to be its own blog post HT!
ReplyDeleteThe cat is finally out of the bag.
ReplyDeleteWord from the courthouse is interesting. Joe dirty deeds renck finally got his hand caught in the financial cookie jar so to speak.
