Look for More Obstruction....It's All About Politics

Once again mayor Mike Moore has a plan in the works to develop the main entry into Jeffersonville along the 10th St corridor. Yesterday's proposed development includes two retail centers, three restaurants and hotel. It appears to be an impressive proposal to enhance the major "Gateway" into the city that will bring tax dollars, jobs and improve the aesthetics of this important area.

So let the political games and obstruction begin.....It's no secret that the Jeffersonville city council and the mayor pretty much despise each other. With this being an election year, this is a plum announcement by the mayor with the election being less than six months away. You can almost bet your last dollar head obstructionist Ed (Moe) Zastawny is "googling"(that's his way of doing research) "Keystone in an attempt to dig up some dirt on the proposal's developer. Already Moore's biggest critic NHBSM (Not Honest But Simple Mike) is dissing the chosen developer (Keystone) though he knows nothing about them.

Hopefully the Moore administration has done their homework and crossed their T's and dotted their I's this time so as not to allow another frivolous lawsuit like the one filed last year. Not Honest Mike's lawsuit not only delayed a similar project but scared off the potential developer White Reach from
doing business with the city.

The BatBlog predicts this hapless Jeffersonville city council will now go into their political stall mode to hold up this project as long as possible (remember where you heard it first). They will want no part of breaking ground anytime before election day to minimize Moore's re-election chances.

The last project they (council) stalled over sewer problems, traffic ....drive thru restaurants and other petty issues...and look for more of the same on this project. This councils wants to feel important but they end up looking foolish and stupid like they have with wanting the new Jeff "Green team" manager to have a certification that only 37 people in the whole world have, ending Jeff city court and the ritzy glitzy, over priced soccer complex no one wants.

Moore isn't without fault in this feud between him and the council, but he has shown a propensity to get things done with attractive projects ...Veteran's Pkwy., the riverfront and the east end are  thriving under Moore's leadership..... he has earned a second term,... especially when his opponent Dennis Julius has shown NO leadership capabilities during his term on the city council.

As for the new entry way project......Let the games Begin !!!

  1. Aren't most of the projects you listed, items that were created and started by the previous administration that Moore likes to take credit for?

  2. Absolutely not, Veterans Pkwy. was there but has only developed in the last 4 years Menard's, Culver's, Heine Bros. and several more are filing in, where there was absolutely nothing before.

The riverfront eyesore (docks) that is being replaced is Moore's and Moore's alone as is the Big Four Pavillion and Park...

Granted the east end was generated almost exclusively by River Ridge but it has flourished recently and is a big plus other than the traffic congestion that needs to be addressed...

And we probably would have a hotel , retail shops, and several new restaurants close to opening if not for the obstructionists like Hutt and the city council...

  3. The last line was in reference to the "gateway" project at 10th and Spring

  4. Bull! The Big 4 was a Galligan collaboration. The only thing Moore was responsible for was delaying it by months!

  5. Give credit where credit is due. The monstrosity of landscaping the median on 10th was exclusive to the previous administration.

  6. Bull back at you sir or maam ...Galligan's plan was a canal through where the Big Four station is. The design of the park and landing was exclusively Moore's administration and as far as the whole Big Four bridge project you can thank Kentucky for that...

  8. The canal didn't go through the big four park, Moore has done NOTHING.... Look over your designs of the original park again

  9. Since I am new to the whole Jeff scene, let me say this. Just build the damn thing, don't care who does it. I don't care if it is your first cousin removed from your uncles brother side. Just get it done and do a great job. If it is done poorly then we can pitch a bitch if they do another project. NSBDM or what ever your name is, you are the scarlet letter and where you go with your shovel, I know the other person must be doing something right..

  10. Ok Anon. believe what you want believe. I know Jeff laid stagnant in the 12 years under Galligan, he did give away riverfront property for Kingfish, Buckheads etc. but that was about it.

And the canal was going thru the park I used to own property adjacent to the park and the proposed canal was coming right thru the property. I went to the meetings saw the plans.

Hey I'm not a big Mike Moore fan, but progress has been made and when you consider the alternative Julius it's a no brainer....I'll vote for Moore....and you can keep your dreams about Galligan...

  11. New to Jeff, I agree just build the damn thing ...but mark my word politics will lift it's ugly head, the criticism of the developer has already began...that's just the way politics rolls around here...damn the taxpayers

  12. Did you move back to Jeffersonville, HT? If not, I'm curious about your voting.

  13. I never left....and by the way who said you had to live in a city to vote there...or even be alive....

  14. Moore is facing the same obstructionism that Galligan faced under his first term. Waiz, Merkley, we're on that council. So stop crying HT! Galligan already had most of what's new or coming in Veterans road. Moore can claim the boat docks, and that worthless over priced park at Allison ln and Middle road. Also the way over priced property purchased by Duffy Landing. River Ridge has the County to thank. Thanks to NSBHM, Jeffersonville will get the proper cash value for the Keystone project.

  15. You're showing your ignorance Anon. the property for the "worthless" park you mentioned was bought by Galligan at an exaggerated over price. And Galligan did nothing with Veteran's Pkwy.and that was with a puppet city council that Galligan gave two members of the opposing party city jobs. Plus you lost all credibility when you praised NHBSM ...Not Honest (Hutt) is a blowhard want to be, who kisses all the political asses hoping for a position, then when they ignore him he goes on his crusade to criticize their every move...he did it to the last two mayors....he's two faced and is lose with the truth....

  16. ....."Galligan gave two members of the opposing party city jobs"....Who were they?
They weren't "double dipping" on the taxpayers from government were they and acting like they were fiscally responsible city council members were they ?
