Democratic or Republican ???

While Clark county as a whole has shifted to a consistent Republican base recently, the city of Jeffersonville not so much and remains predominately Democratic. The recent voting figures from May's primaries bear this out with significantly   more votes were cast for Dem.s than Rep.s. At the root of this base is the old school and I do mean "old" Democrats (looks like retirement home) who make up the Dem.caucus and are precinct committeemen and committeewomen.

This base will help the Dennis Julius (D) bid for the Jeffersonville mayor's position, though they are old....older people do vote ...and at percentage wise more than younger voters. This older base will never forgive or forget Moore beating Tom "Boss Hogg" Galligan no matter how good a job Moore may have done.

Not to say a Republican incumbent can't win a second term but years ago (R) Dale Orem did a great job in his first term only to be thrown to the street on his reelection bid by perennial candidate and officeholder (D) Raymond "Buddy" Parker. Parker was a lousy mayor but a big Democrat and a popular vote getter. So history has shown that Republican incumbent mayors can be beaten the second time around.

It's too early to make a prediction and even though Dennis Julius will never be another Buddy Parker it could a difficult reelection bid for mayor Mike Moore....

Is that Ed Z in the Democrat booth ??/ Where's his Julius shirt  ??
Speaking of Democratic or Republican, just what the hell is city councilman  Ed "Moe Zastawny ??? He claims to be Republican but you never see him with the other GOP candidates and he appears to despise fellow party member Mike Moore. The BatBlog is trying to obtain a copy of an alleged picture of "Moe" sitting in the Democratic booth at a recent festival and hobnobbing with fellow Democrats (stay tuned). Which is it Moe Democrat or Republican ??? The BatBlog believes Ed Z. isn't sure himself just what he is...

  1. You must hate old people for some reason as so many of your comments refer to old people. They may be old but very wise. Also I think Dale Orem won two elections and was defeated on his third try.

  2. Besides people on the Clark County chatter, I not heard a single person who's voting for Mike Moore.

  3. I stand corrected Anon. you are right Orem served 2 terms from 1984-91 and I love old people hell I am one...

  6. Make no mistake about it Julius is just if not more arrogant than Moore just in a different manner. Actually they have a lot in common, both had them handed successful businesses built by their daddies and neither has probably done a hard days work in their life.

I agree Moore is his own worse enemy at times and comes across as an ass on occasion. Don't really care about his personal life and it shouldn't be an issue. Hell the best presidents in this century Kennedy and Clinton were womanizers...

My vote for Moore is actually a NO vote for Julius more than anything...

It always amazes me these politicians like Moore and Julius out kissing asses and pandering to people they would have nothing to do with personally, if they didn't have a vote they wanted..

The most educated, qualified and most intelligent candidate didn't stand a chance in the mayor'r race because wasn't a politician and refused to kiss ass to become one

  7. "The most educated, qualified. and most intelligent candidate"....
Thanks! That is very nice of you to say, but I did not want to run.

  8. Vissing's post is in very poor taste, taking pot shots at someone's personal life is uncalled for. Shows Vissing's character that he would bring it up rather than discuss the issues. Dirty politics and lies are tactics of desperate politicians and scumbags.

  9. KV's comments are way out of line but what do you expect from a candidate with a history as a loser. He is jealous of MM's success and popularity. I'll never vote for him anything unless he runs against Hutt who is another miserable human being.

  10. Since we are discussing personal lives Mr. Vissing are you divorced? Did you throw your ex wife to the curb? Or did she throw you to the curb?

    ReplyDelete
  11. I think you misunderstood Mr Vissing. He said voters are not voting for Moore based on those things. I don't think that was his personal observation.

  12. Seemed to me like a personal attack, I may be a independent voter, but this pushes me away from Mr. Vissing's Party.

  13. I have a deep respect for Vicki Moore, Chuck, and Angie, and Mr. and Mrs Moore. Sorry I crossed the line. I will remove that post. Just repeating what the voters tell me.

  14. I for one admire a good womanizer, it shows that a man has a backbone.

  15. KV vs MH!
Now that would be a race of NEW LOWS even for slugs!
Maybe they could both run AGAIN next year and run against each other in the primary....
    Hard to picture.
    Can you imagine...?

Their failures drive their constant rapid attacks, hate filled posts,
    and low-life actions.
    They deserve each other.
    Sad.

  16. Now that's too funny! Or an arm wrestling match between Saville Rowe and NSBHM..... or Anonomous vs 3rd district voter. Or concerned voter vs Col North. I'd buy tickets for that!

    ReplyDelete
  17. I admire a man who called out, and admitted he was wrong. Not too many that will do that.
I am a Republican, that will be voting for Mr. Vissing!

  18. Maybe MH vs KV in 2016 for county commissioner !
Or they could run for county council at-large.
They would only have to finish in the top three to obtain a nomination spot
for the General Election. Quite an interesting contest that would be....
Will they go to the post?

Can you see Chair TG having to put up with that!

  19. Yes, the highly successful Republican Chair Jamey Noel would love to get those two on the ballot in 2016.
His incumbents would win in a breeze.

  20. "Just repeating what the voters told me."

    SMH.

  21. An analysis just several weeks from the General Election shows that the Republican candidate for mayor is very strong. Great leadership and progress for Jeffersonville. The obstructionist, big spending city council is looking at change.
Five members are already gone. it is possible that only two incumbents in total could return.
The Democrats feel that they have a good shot at five seats,
picking up two. The Republicans say that the Democrats may get a total of two seats this time, a net loss of one seat.
The Republicans now control the council 6-3 and are looking to add a seat and go to 7-2. The Democrats are striving to gain control 5-4.
It is possible that only Matt Owen and Ed Zastawny will return
from thoses elected four years ago.
Lots of politics to go still on 2015!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Of the three Democrat candidates for at-large seats, which has the best chance to break though and win?
Many observers say that Samuel will hold onto his seat and give the Democrats three seats again on the new council.

  23. I'm a republican, and most definitely won't vote for Moore. I will VOTE for KV this election because he has a backbone.

    ReplyDelete
  24. It's easy to have a backbone when you have no idea what is going on.

  26. KV, we already knew that you are confused.
Politics and government can be troubling.
    Counseling might be beneficial.

Maybe, trying to deal with issues in some minimal way
would be better than your confused stalking attempts.

    "We feel your pain."

  27. Hey, KV with the SR deets, most important questions ever: is "Saville Rowe" kin to Mike Rowe, and, if so, can he get us an intro?

    ReplyDelete

  28. Anonymous, yes! I understand!

Mike Rowe does work at the dirty jobs that have to be done.
As the creator and executive producer of Discovery Channel's Emmy-nominated series Dirty Jobs With Mike Rowe, Mike has spent years traveling the country, working as an apprentice on more than 200 jobs that most people would go out of their way to avoid.

  29. Sounds like KV has gotten under SR's skin. Isn't SR the poster who makes absolutely no sense on chatter, with broken sentences, and posts about nothing? I wish he or she would go away!

    ReplyDelete
  30. The perennial candidate KV
(attempts in 07/08/11/12/15 and probably again in 2016)
has moved from a total lack of comprehension to now having become a STALKER.
It is OK for citizens to post ideas.
    A candidates or office holder,
    like the "perennial candidate" KV,
    would better fulfill their obligations
by maybe even reading the budgets that are given them,
rather than becoming a strange STALKER.

  31. SR, weren't you somehow involved in politics? Can you elaborate without calling yourself out? Was it with Baron Hill?

  32. Kevin Vissing ran for mayor and got 359 votes.
It should have told him something......

Tom Galligan won the mayor's office and did a very good job.
Mike Moore won the mayor's office and is doing a very good job.
Tom Galligan is facing strong headwinds as the Democrat county chair.
Jamey Noel is compiling an impressive record as Republican county chair.
Mr. Noel is very successfully putting together both a strong party structure
and recruiting very good new candidates.

    Callie Jahn,
the 3rd District Republican candidate for Jeffersonville City Council,
is an example of a bright, energetic, intelligent new candidate for office.
She is impressive and will be an excellent council person to help Mayor Moore
in the continued growth and prosperity of Jeffersonville.

  33. I do like the idea a posted had of MH and KV running against each other.
That would be something to see as a new level of strangeness.

    They could stalk each other!

Can you see TG's reaction if he sees both KV and MH
    file for office in 2016.

TG is sincere and a very hard working individual.
He has a tough gig as the Clark County Democrat Chairman.

  34. Callie Jahn
is an excellent candidate for the Jeffersonville City Council
in the Third District. She is very intelligent and her campaign is based upon POSIYIVE efforts to assist Jeffersonville.

  35. Obvious post by the same poster. He must not like kv. Could he be jealous of kv? Why doesn't this poster run for office? Is ? a felon?

    ReplyDelete
  36. Knock it off you two we get it you don't like each other....No need in multiple posts rehashing your dislike....

  37. We hope Matt Owen is booted.
He can go back to delivering pizzas.

    Maybe learn to shave.

He may need medical attention though to
remove his lips from someone's posterior
