Drain The Swamp...

Greater Clark Co. Schools Swamp
The BatBlog continues to hear around town and the internet grumblings and dissatisfaction with Greater Clark Co.Schools superintendent Andrew Melin  and the GCCS board. Not only the recent decision to close the two downtown schools, but Melin's decision making and spending has caused consternation among some local voters and taxpayers.

The BatBlog's only advice to these disgruntled citizens is band together and work to "Drain the Swamp". The  solution is to remove the school board members that coddle to Melin while ignoring voices of the tax paying public. The alternative is to eventually pay higher taxes to finance Melin's and the board's reckless spending spree and  manipulation to circumvent the  referendum that failed miserably...

Draining the GCCS swamp is a difficult endeavor as voters can be pretty apathetic on these local races and name recognition is often a determining factor of voters who are either unaware  or just don't care about the issues. This school board apparently doesn't care about taxpayers concerns and are beholden to Melin for some reason ... for those voters who care about higher taxes and no input to the Melin dictatorship...

Drain that swamp !!! Drain that swamp !!!

  1. H-T is correct:
....."pay higher taxes to finance Melin's and the board's reckless spending spree and manipulation to circumvent the referendum that failed miserably"...

It failed by a huge75%-25% margin and the 'Slickmeisters'
found sneaky ways around the overwhelming voice of the voters.

    "Drain The Swamp!"

  2. Sad to hear that people think that new schools are reckless spending.

    1. It's not about new schools being "reckless spending" especially when they are needed. People don't have much faith or trust in Melin and this board to spend their tax dollars wisely.

The school referendum failed overwhelmingly yet Melin and this board are attempting by technicalities and manipulation of circumventing the wishes of the voters. Spending money on frivolous items voters resoundly said NO to...

      Drain the Swamp !!!

  3. Draining the swamp is always a good idea. Problem is usually the swamp fills right back up with more creatures. Example being Washington right now.

  4. Once they are in there it is hard to unseat them. Perkins is an admitted felon and thief and she was reelected, so you might as well grin and bear it. Only one the lady which I forgot her name has had the courage to stand up to the super.I guess because they hired him they feel obligated to do everything that he says or they have no backbone, either way the super has a free reign over this board.

  5. Most voters don't care and know very little about school board races and the issues involved. Most regular voters are older and don't have children in school, while they may have grandchildren school issues are way down on their list of priorities in elections. The only time voters pay attention to school matters is when there are referendums like the one that was easily beaten recently here in CC. Voters don't like raised taxes and voted accordingly.

  7. You are right. The swamp needs to be drained. This isn't just about Maple or Spring Hill. The spending is out of control and only getting worse. They budget for projects, issue bonds and then spend far more than budgeted. Melin and the board need to disclose their entire plan and then take it back to the people in a referendum. Bypassing the taxpayers is simply wrong.

  8. Both schools are an eyesore and need to be torn down. Instead of schools they look like the projects. Run down and abused. This is what happens when you get people in the neighborhood who refuse to take pride in their homes. Build a new school!!!

    1. I can't speak to Spring Hill, but I pass Maple everyday and it is definitely NOT run down...That said, I'm not totally opposed to a new downtown school...As long as it is downtown...I believe in smaller neighborhood schools, but if the battle is lost then the next best thing is to fight to for a new downtown school as opposed to busing the kids elsewhere.

  10. Oh really? And will you also run as "Anonymous" or will we get an actual name to pick on the ballot???

  11. Lisa, I am not the person who insulted you, I jut used Anonymous due to not wanting my name out there yet. Everyone has a opinion and I feel my experience can help in this matter, name calling will not.

  12. I did not say you were? I was just asking if we were going to get your name so that we will know who we are voting for??
