Why Good People Don't Run for Office

A recent story in the News/Tribune exemplifies why more good people don't run for political office. Sellerburg town councilwoman Martina Webster was accused by fellow council member Bill Conlin of kicking him under the table during council meetings. This absurd accusation and grandstanding by Mr. Conlin was made before a large turnout of local residents attending the council's regular scheduled meeting.

The BatBlog believes Mr. Conlin must be watching too much Donald Trump, who also throws out mindless , false accusations and lies about colleagues and political foes alike. According to BatBlog sources Mr. Conlin is somewhat of a drama  king who tries to create controversy at every meeting in order to feed his need to feel important and relevant.

Anyone who knows Ms. Webster knows she wouldn't kick anyone even if they deserved it. She is a fine young woman, wife and mother, well respected  who has exerted her self well in her short time in politics.

The BatBlog can see it now small time, local "want to be important politicians" everywhere like Mr. Conlin emulating The Donald spewing lies, creating drama and generally making asses of themselves. Mr. Conlin you threatened to resign on several occasions ...do your Sellersburg constituents a favor and step down... now is the time, because you look rather foolish and a dunce, wear your hat proudly you earned it.....

  2. Martina is smart but odd. The evidence doesn't support Conlins claims.

  3. This is odd, because we thought that Bill and Martina got along really well.
What could have possibly happened that he could have possibly
earned a good, swift kick in the shin?

  5. Since she's already been wrongly accused, she should go ahead and kick the living shit out of him at her next opportunity.

I'll buy her some extra pointy shoes. Martina, what size you need?

  6. Or perhaps she really did kick him? Funny how you call Ms. Conway a bimbo without even knowing her, but then decry the lack of civility in politics! Then call Trump a liar, again, without any proof to back it up. Maybe, just maybe we all need to tone down the rhetoric and start looking for thing we can agree on, instead of focusing on the things we disagree on. Just a thought.

  7. Believe me she didn't kick him and the facts are there to prove it. Just as the facts have proven Trump to be a pathological liar and Conway is a proven "Bimbo for hire" ...check out Youtube for the numerous news videos while she worked for Ted Cruz she publicly trashed Trump over and over for things she now defends him for.

There is NO civility in big time politics as Trump has brought to the forefront in unheard fashion during the campaign...Now him and his minions cry when it's reversed on him...If you dish out you better be able to take it...

Lock him up !!! Lock him up !!!

  8. So everything is trumps fault? No one in politics as ever change their mind like I Ms. Conway has? What about Mr. I voted for it before I voted against it Kerry? Or what about I had to dodge bullets when I got off the plane Clinton? I bet yo are more than willing to give them a free pass. You Sir are SO hypocritical that it's not funny. You what to attack one side but then cry like a little baby when they attack you back .

  9. Conway didn't change her mind...her man lost and she jumped ship...like I said a "bimbo for hire"...

Obviously you haven't been reading The BatBlog very long, I call out Democrats as well as Republicans not hypocritical at all. Just call em like I see em...If Trump can't take the criticism that comes with it he needs to shut his mouth...
