Commentary by HT - HT's Opinion - Politics and the Debt Crisis

HT just watched a news story on Debt Crisis and HT thinks he has it figured out. There's way too many big egos in Washington D.C.. Too many Senators and Congressmen looking for their 15 minutes of fame instead of trying to comprise and work together as most Americans want and expect them to do. For the most part they are too egocentric and self centered to compromise or be non partisan. Everybody wants to be on one of the plethora of news shows   and state THEIR Party's opinion and hammer the opposite party. This impasse has not only crippled an already fragile economy, but really makes our whole system of government and politics look bad. It's difficult to determine exactly who is the most guilty of grandstanding but John Boehner and Mitch McConnell have to be at near the top of the list. More worried about next years election and politics then doing what they were elected to do, run this country efficiently as possible and to the benefit of the people.

Well anyway that's HT's Opinion

The 27 Club - Amy Winehouse Newest Member
Amy Winehouse
Tragically over the weekend singer Amy Winehouse became the latest member to join the 27 Club. Joining Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Kurt Cobain, Brian Jones and lesser known members Robert Johnson and Ron (Pigpen McKernan) plus many less famous musicians. They all died at the young age of 27 years old. Here's an interesting link on the club, the musicians, and details of their deaths 27 Club. And here's the Wikipedia take on the 27 Club both interesting reads. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/27_Club

Commentary by HT - HT's Opinion - Casey Anthony

HT has somewhat followed the recent Casey Anthony trial and aftermath. I kind of agree with juries decision, in the respect, they (the jury)  felt that she didn't murder the child. I believe it was a horrible accident gone wrong, and the prosecution dropped the ball by not charging her with  involuntary man slaughter. Instead  going for the 1st degree murder and possible death penalty. With no way of proving how the child died, there was no way the jury was going to buy into the death penalty for Ms. Anthony. On the same hand the jury had to be out to lunch to find her innocent of child abuse the secondary charge. Anthony now must go into hiding and is a pariah to most of society which may be punishment in it's self. Hopefully she won't benefit financially from her daughters death, but this is America.

A couple other things that bother HT about the trial was the defense throwing so much at jury without having to prove them. The abuse, the drowning, accusing the father everything they threw out there to me may have confused at the jury. I know it's the prosecution's burden to prove but the jury was bombarded with so many facts unproven by the defense.Another thing was the press coverage, this whole case exploded by the media coverage. Normally a trial like this would conclude in 2 or 3 days but the press like in the O.J. Simpson trial gave this a life of it's own and ultimately may have effected the verdict. Well anyway that's my opinion...

Goliath Exonerated !! Chickens Found

It looks like Goliath might be innocent in the missing chicken caper. Angelina reports in her blog Missing chickens found.that most of her prized chickens have been found by her neighbors down the street.Unfortunately a couple of her prized chicks succumbed at the hands of a raccoon , may they RIP.

Angelina apologizes for the accusation that her chickens were stolen. Goliath is not guilty and Angelina and her chicks are reunited. A Happy ending....

League of Women Voters err Fighters

* disclaimer - HT views are strictly tongue in cheek, HT is somewhat chauvinistic and ladies if you are easily offended please don't READ the following. (It's all in fun

HT has been reading the local blogs and forums about last weeks initial League of Women Voters (Fighters) meeting. Sounds like a rousing start; verbal insults, catty remarks, glaring stares, what more could you ask for. This could be fun !!! How about next month bringing in a vat of mud, or a fighting cage, sell beer and tickets and allow men strictly as spectators. It would be a fund raising Bonanza. Think of the match ups Abbybananas vs. Cindiloohoo, Kelley vs. Abbybananas, actually anybody vs. Abbybananas, put a wig on NSBHM and throw him in with Aerial (Barb Anderson). HT would pay good money for this kind of show
The League of Women Voters flexing before the Meeting

Mrs. HT not the political type, but Tammy (my neighbor, who mud wrestles twice a week at the local bars) would love to join as long as politics aren't discussed. She hates politics and politicians (except Bill Clinton) and she knows absolutely nothing about government or issues.

Let the Games Begin !!!

Remember this is all in fun and Good Luck to the League of Women Voters err Fighters !!!

Ladies, Ladies !!

A Story of the Missing Chickens

My friend Angelina from Seattle has a sad story to tell. Here's a link to her sad tale:  Angelina's Story.   HT thinks he has a clue to solve this mystery. Wasn't Goliath on vacation over the July 4th weekend ?? Was he in Seattle ?? Well HT has acquired a couple of photos that seem very incriminating indeed and I'm forwarding them to her. Decide for yourself...Angelina's none to happy about this situation and if you read her story she wants justice and is ready to kick some ass....

Who is that hiding behind that rock in Angelina's yard eyeing
one of her prize chickens ???

Look closely at the chicken on the left. This picture was taken at Goliath's  compound...

HT vs. the City of Jeffersonville

The Grand Canal of Jeffersonville is coming and one of HT's rental Batcaves is going to be right dab in the center of it according to the City of Jeffersonville, and they want to purchase it. They give HT a ridiculous, insulting offer of 20% below the appraised value of a 3 year old appraisal HT has. HT responds to the City with a somewhat high but fair offer that City refuses. HT and the City about to butt heads. HT's been reading up on the eminent domain laws and is tempted to face off against the City in court and stand up against what HT believes are unfair ways that government can take your property. HT feels like he has nothing to lose by going to court  See ya in court .....

Commentary by HT - HT's Opinion

If you read the the column below it's pretty obvious the Federal Government doesn't have a clue about a lot of things. Labeling marijuana in the same category as heroin is totally ridiculous. For whatever reasons the government continues to label marijuana as a dangerous drug, while at the same time MDs dispense pain killers, zanax, anti- depressants etc. like candy. Not to mention alcohol the most widely abused drug in the world. You would think our government would have learned from Prohibition, that it just doesn't work. Marijuana will still be used by millions with for the most part very little negative effects. (ever see someone smoking pot want to kick your ass like  drunks do ???) Why not legalize it, tax it, regulate it. It would be a thriving industry that could generate tax and personal revenue for the government and for private investors and growers. Legalization would allow police to concentrate on more serious crimes and help reduce the over crowding of our court and penal systems. With an open market the price would come down and citizens wouldn't have to deal with sleazy drug dealers for their pot. It's a win, win situation in my opinion, for everyone involved. Why doesn't our government see it this way ??? Well anyway that's my opinion.....

Federal Government Rules Marijuana Has No Accepted Medical Purpose

The federal government ruled on Friday that marijuana has no accepted medical use and should remain in the same class of drugs as heroin.
The decision comes nearly nine years after marijuana supporters asked the government to reclassify the drug to take into account the growing body of research conducted across the globe that proves it's effective in treating certain diseases, reports The Los Angeles Times.
The paper spoke to advocates who criticized the ruling but are pleased that the government has finally responded, which allows them to appeal to the federal courts.
In May several medical marijuana advocacy groups under the name Coalition for Rescheduling Cannabis filed a lawsuit insisting that the DEA finally attend to the 9-year-old request, reports LAist.
Joe Elford, chief counsel for Americans for Safe Access told the Times, he was not surprised by the decision, which came shortly after the Obama administration announced it would not tolerate large-scale commercial marijuana growing operations.
It is clearly motivated by a political decision that is anti-marijuana," he said. He noted that studies demonstrate pot has beneficial effects, including appetite stimulation for people undergoing chemotherapy. "One of the things people say about marijuana is that it gives you the munchies and the truth is that it does, and for some people that's a very positive thing.
The Times also noted, this is the third time that petitions to reclassify marijuana have been denied. The first was filed in 1972 and denied 17 years later. The second was filed in 1995 and denied in 2001. Both decisions were appealed, but the courts sided with the federal government.
California and many other states have legalized marijuana for medicinal reasons and a push to legalize it in general is expected to appear on the 2012 ballot in California as Proposition 19, writesLAist.
