Rampant Drug Use at the Clark Co. Jail ??? An I Team Report

I had an anonymous viewer comment on one of the political posts last week about alleged drug use at the Clark Co. Jail his comment below....

A major issue with the Clark County jail is the amount of illegal drugs available to the inmates. Any inmate who has spent any time in jail will report that any drug available on the street is available in jail. This is common knowledge. Anyone associated with the courts or law enforcement is aware of this. Unless they hide their head in the sand and pretend the problem does not exist. A sheriff's candidate must run on a promise to clean up the jail. If we can't keep the dope out of our jails, how can we expect to control drug trafficking on the street.

I had a follow up comment where the poster who asked not to be published that backed up Anon.1's allegation. The BatBlog assumes there is probably various amounts of drug usage in all jails, but was wondering if anyone else out there can confirm or deny these serious allegations to the BatBlog I (Investigation) Team. As always anonymity will be protected. The BatBlog I Team is considering having HT go under cover, have himself arrested in order to personally investigate this situation....

***NOTE*** As always you can leave comments to the BatBlog and ask that they not be published. We receive a lot of good information and ideas for stories and posts from these comments. Just put "Do Not Publish" in your comment. We Welcome all tips and ideas....

  1. HT...Goliath not know how it is happening but Goliath does believe that drugs are in the jail.

Goliath not able to say how to stop it. But it is a true story.

  2. What percentage of inmates are non-violent drug related charges in the first place?

How much money does the sheriff and other local police departments make off asset forfeiture?

Anyone know how to find out that info?

  3. There many folks that know about this in Clark Co. Who is going to finally talk and admit it. It needs to hit the front pages.

  4. Wow I'm amazed at the response to this post. Several have given me first hand, detailed accounts of how the illegal drug operation within the C.C. jail operates.

While they did post anonymously and asked not to post their comments, I believe by their detailed comments they are very much legitimate accounts.

If so it goes very deep into the operations at the jail itself which maybe actually contributing to the drug problem here locally versus deterring the problem with incarceration....

Thank you for the responses and as always anonymity will be honored and if you wish your comments not to be published simply say so in your post

  5. This would make an excellent investigative story for the local media. But pretty sure you wouldn't get much cooperation from the Clark Co. officials and the operations involved, as that may be a big part of the under lying problem....

  7. Clarksville police bragging about arresting 18, but that is just a minuscule amount of those dealing and using out there. This is a problem that is a scourge to society and is growing every day.

If the police and sheriff's dept. can't control it in jail how can they control it on the streets.

  8. Maybe someone in sheriff's Dept. does control it, you know what I mean. Captive audience with a need and no one else to get it from sounds like a lucrative market to me.

  9. So who to vote for on the sheriff race?
I would not vote for either one of the candidates that currently work at the jail... Because I would assume they would run things the same way Rodden has and frankly that is real scary.

  10. Vote for change from the current regime. The Sheriff's Dept. Needs a breath of fresh air in there and I don't think anyone from the inside is going to bring that.
