Kevin Vissing Responds

Kelly Khuri asked Kevin Vissing (both Clark Co. councilpersons) about a plan he had discussed to satisfy both sides of the RDA issue in a post last week ...Kevin  kindly responded yesterday..

In reference to my last post. I discussed with a commissioner, how we could please the electorate on this RDA thing.

No illegal meetings 1 councilman, 1 commissioner. Totally legal to any paranoid voter out there.
Discussion about fixing RDA was knocked down by another commissioner.

If the commissioners don't appoint anyone to RDA , Scott Co. gets to pick all 5. That's not good. So stay tuned. If I find out anything new, I'll let (Colonel North, Nazi sympathizer), HT, Kelly and maybe one other poster, what I know. Thanks KV

KV went on to add.....

No doubt Kelly does her homework. I've never heard anyone question that.
Kelly looks awfully great in her photo. I NEED SOME OF THAT REPUBLICAN MONEY , SO I CAN SPRING FOR A MORE PROFESSIONAL PHOTO LIKE HERS.

Finally Kevin added...
I just read the evening news
It pretty much tells all there is to know about RDA.

  1. So then, in the interest of protecting Clark Co, the council needs to rescind their vote ASAP.

And even if the council believes they can't rescind, who is going to sue us if they do it anyways? The state? The IEDC? Scott co? 1Si? They made Washington Co re-vote to say no twice, why can't we also get a re-vote?

  2. Nice political move Kevin....when you upset a lady colleague tell her how nice she looks...smooth operator...

  3. By the way I would also like to see the vote rescinded as well....

  4. I believe that rescinding the vote is the only right thing to do.

  5. Poor Kevin in 07-08-11-12-15.
Even as the 'Perennial Candidate' that he is,
    constantly running for various offices,
he should know that Col North fought the Communists, totalitarians,
and wannabe Nazi-types. He did not sympathize with them.

It seems that KV is even more confused in his comprehension of government.
The RDA vote had nothing to do with Col North.

I thought that KV was to provide the Award Winning Bar Blog
with an "attempted justification of any benefit" to justify his attempt to give away Clark County's Sovereignty to the RDA.
    Strange.

  6. KV, I thought that Hoosier Taxpayer
very nicely provided you with a nifty forum
    to attempt to explain your " k n o w l e d g e " of the impact of the RDA.
Do you even know what it represents?

  7. Bat Blog Educates the Government Types

OK, let's try some simple terms:
    Sovereignty:
"Sovereignty is understood in jurisprudence as the full right and power of a governing body to govern itself without any interference from outside sources or bodies."
Clark County could be very negatively impacted.

KV: Kelly and Tina are trying to teach you
to look beyond the weak initial "presentation and offer con" cloaked as an RDA.
More knowledge might teach you something that they fully comprehend.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Tina and Kelly
have a lot of information on what the promoted RDA con represents
and what it would mean to implement it.
    Listen to them.
    "KV in 07-08-11-13-15",
could begin to increase his knowledge base if he did so.

H-T, how about a submission from each of them explaining just what the con of this RDA represents and the potentially negative long term effects could be.

The county commissioners are also gaining knowledge.

  9. Clark County Council member Kelly Khuri
has a lot of information about this RDA con,
its origin, and its potential long term negative impact upon Clark County.
(That has apparently eluded poor KV.)

Yes, it would be cool to get the Award Winning Bat Blog
to have her give a detailed
    analysis to the readers!

  10. Kelly and Tina put plenty of the cons out there. Don't be putting stuff on their to-do list.

If KV doesn't know the cons, he hasn't been paying attention.

The county council attorney laid it out for them after Kelly requested he do the research. KV and the other council members knew when they voted that the claim the RDA's power to condemn property would be stopped by their county ordinance was bullshit, but they went right along and voted for bullshit.

  11. Well. ..the last 5 posts were conducted by the same guy who eats lunch with Tom Galligan. The last time you talked to me when you purchased an adult beverage for me you said you and TG were for the RDA. Strange behavior on your behalf.

    ReplyDelete
  12. The detailed analysis is all on the chatter already. If you want a synopsis, all you need is Scott Lewis' legal opinion spoken aloud at the August 10th county council meeting.

  13. Martina, have you ever felt you ever were wrong about anything? While I respect your investigative nature, I also have a diverse background in many things in life. Too many to list.
That's what makes government great! You have your thoughts, I have mine.
Let's see what the commissioners do with the RDA. Then we will go from there. Thanks KVISSING

  14. Here, you can also hear the IEDC personally answer the Washington County Council's questions:

    http://washingtoncoin.suiteonemedia.com/Web/Player.aspx?id=34&key=-1&mod=-1&mk=-1&nov=0

If you don't want to listen to the whole 2 hours (because I know elected officials can't be expected to have time to do their due diligence) they can skip forward to 1 hour and 9 minutes to listen to David Hoar's brilliant questions and the SORELY LACKING answers from the IEDC guy on the phone.

    Enjoy!

  15. Kevin you might want to tell Tina her picture looks nice...

  16. Your funny HT! Some of the same folks voted down the casino license, are against RDA. Some of the same folks go to the casino and spend their money. I bet ( sorry for the pun) the same folks wish it was in Clark County.

  17. Kevin, if you were stalking me while I was in high school we're going to need to have a talk.

The funny thing is, the Regional Cities Initiative is like buying a lottery ticket. Dave Ramsey calls those a "stupid tax".

It is a nice deflection from actually discussing the facts of the state statute governing the RDA though! Attacking opponents instead of actually debating a topic is called what logical fallacy?

Why should we support it Kevin? What does an RDA do that River Hills couldn't do?

    ReplyDelete
  18. The vote is over Martina. Let's see what the commissioners do. I want to thank all of those people who sent letters in support of the RDA. Also all those that have verbally supported it as well.

    1. Ok, the commissioners did not appoint & did not submit a plan tp the IEDC. Please rescind the ordinance. at this point it is an 800lb gorilla in the room with no benefit, only risk.

  19. How many of those letters were 1SI members Kevin? Why do you continue to feel the need to cram this down our throats?

    ReplyDelete
  20. Ya know, it takes a big person to admit they made a mistake.

    ReplyDelete
  21. 1Si members are taxpayers that own businesses who actually employ people like you and me Russell. I have tried to answer your questions.

    ReplyDelete
  22. With all due respect, you did not answer my question. If the majority of those letters you received in favor were 1SI members then we would expect business owners to be in favor of giving an appointed board filled with business owners authority to take people's property so their business owner friends could develope it and make money for their business. Especially after their trade association sends out the call to arms.

    1. If you believe that, there's not much I can do to change your mind. We will just agree to disagree.

    2. Russell, it appears taking someone's property is quite an issue for you. My question, would you agree that I65 took lots of properties. Would you not take properties for any road? As I said at the RDA meeting, my grand parents farm was cut in half. You have surely drove on i65. Doesn't that make you a hypocrite if you have driven on that interstate?

      Delete
    3. Do you understand the difference between an Interstate or school vs a strip mall or subdivision? One is a legitimate use of eminent domain. The other isn't. So, no, it does not make me a hypocrite to use a road that was a legitimate use of eminent domain. I think you need to educate yourself sir because your argument is very weak.

      Delete
    4. You gave no distinction. So how was I to know?

      Delete
    5. What part of "their business owner friends could develop it and make money for their business" was unclear to you? There was a distinction made.

    6. The evening news has another article about RDA today. Sounds like it's a dead issue.

    7. Then what is the problem with voting to remove us from the RDA?

      Delete
  23. Mr. Vissing, As a newer resident to the county I have found your answers extremely incredulous and lacking of any foundation of relevance. If you are looking for people to support you in the future, trying being a bit more humble and sticking with less Inflammatory and more relevant conversation. As I always says facts never lie, but people can use facts to lie.

Unlike us, we might win by a popularity contest but this person is gonna have a great education, be highly qualified & I hope our commissioners will pick somebody like that if this does pass."

  30. I stand by that statement. A great example.... My friend Phil McCauley is on the port commission. He fits that qualification.

  32. The carrot is a dead issue. The RDA is not. It is still a threat.

It can rise from the dead like Lazarus at any time.

Or the legislature could change the law to force the commissioners rise it from the dead.

That's the problem with a state created body. The state actually controls it.

  33. I seriously doubt the vote will be rescinded...too many egos involved. Though it would be what a majority of voters would want, I think it would a an admission that they were wrong about this, and their fellow councilperson Kelly Khuri was right.

Big egos, especially political egos do not like to admit when they are wrong...the yes vote will remain on record...

  34. KIPDA,
    River Hills,
    River Ridge,
    The Port of Indiana -Jeffersonville,
    the State of Indiana,
    the city's development efforts, etc.,
    are all functioning VERY well.

    The RDA is a con.
    It is totally unneeded.

See who is actually proposing it internationally
and how it is being utilized to REDUCE
regional and local planning, growth, and control.
Tina and Kelly have done their homework.
Be very wary of this RDA scam.

  35. Sadly, I believe you are correct. Like I said, it takes a big person to admit you made a mistake. I'm afraid that our council members egos are bigger than their sense of duty to the people.
