Popplewell Update and Rumors...

Have we elected a crook ???
Thought I would update the Popplewell situation... as I traverse around the area a lot of people feel we have elected a crook to the county council. The recent allegations and rumors stemming from Popplewells forced ?? resignation has only fueled the outrage among the local electorate. Compounded with what appears to be a cover up by local authorities makes this the top news story headed into the new year.

Questions heard by The BatBlog include ....Why no criminal investigation ??? Has Popplewell been hired by sheriff Jamey Noel after his resignation from the CPD ?? What store did the alleged theft occur at ??? Do we the public have any recourse about his election to the council ???

The Batblog has heard answers to all these questions but none have been confirmed as of yet... which just makes the story even more intriguing. The BatBlog  called for earlier a complete non partisan investigation by the Indiana State police to answer and publicize the answers to these questions and more. A concerned public has the right and is owed these answers and we encourage everyone to voice their concerns to all elected officials...

Especially concerning is the Clarksville PD and town council's refusal to date to provide some insight to these allegations. It is their duty as elected and public officials to serve and provide the public with information... as well Mr. Popplewell if innocent should more than anyone want a complete investigation to clear his name.

Stay vigilant my friends and The BatBlog welcomes all input through the comments section or e-mail  hoosiertaxpayer@outlook.com and your anonymity is guaranteed through both mediums....

  1. I agree this matter should be investigated by an outside agency. After seeing how this has been handled none of the local agencies or prosecutor can be trusted in my opinion. The Clarksville Police Department made a very good name for itself over the last few years with a new administration. This Popplewell incident has made them look bad and smells of a cover up. Maybe it's time for a new administration in Clarksville if it's found out to be true. And I put some of the blame on Sheriff Noel as well. Popplewell is one of his "political pets" he should have put a leash on. Shame on all involved for making Clark County and Clarksville look like criminals.

  2. Good post Mr.Grey !!! It is up to us citizens to put some pressure on local officials to get some answers and to the bottom of this.. Maybe if pressure is applied some one will act....

      ...

Popplewells alleged crimes were just rumors before the election...

  5. Noel is probably using connection to state police to keep this from being investigated.

    1. Doesn't have as much power as he thinks. Didn't get the Superintendent position he was said to be taking. Good for ISP but bad for Clark County. His departure would have been something positive out of all this.

    2. Kevin, is there going to be an old-fashioned "sit in protest" at the county council meetings? When is the first one?

  6. What did Kevin V. say? Who deleted it?

  7. Kevin must have deleted it himself...I didn't do it...

  8. Why would Kevin, or any of the other council want to serve on a group with this crook on board?

Can we all agree that you can't trust a crook?

Maybe that's too old school or something.

    1. They shouldn't have to serve with him, he should do the right thing and resign. But this guy has already proven he can't or won't do the right thing. Come on Noel convince your pet monkey to resign and make yourself look a little better if that's even possible.

    2. Why would anyone want to serve on a board or council with a thief? Good question. None of the other school board members had sense enough to resign in protest. Doubt the other council members will either. Clark county is a joke

    3. I don't think resigning in protest would be the right thing to do...

Asking the guilty party to resign by all members in a written proclamation would be more appropriate IMO...

Public embarrassment might be an option... but obviously people like this have no conscious...

  10. Unfortunately, he cant be stopped unles Walmart presses charges or the town of Clarksville presses charges beyond his discharge deal. If he breaks the deal with Clarksville as I was told he did, by mouthing off on Facebook, maybe they will charge him.

    1. His first order of business will be to get a county credit card for his personal use, a county vehicle (special deputy badge included), and make a motion to get free insurance. And that's just the first day !

  12. A smart and well informed electorate will keep this in their memory banks.

Noel barely won in a 3 man field...Make him a one term sheriff...

    1. One term is enough. He is a major disappointment. Hasn't got a clue how to be a leader. And condones his third in charge ( Chicago type thug) to harass employees especially females and ones not on his political side who even got physical with a couple deputies, one was a Sergeant from Charlestown who gave him all he could handle ! All brushed under the rug with no disciplinary action taken of course.

  18. Looks like Popplewell has resigned from the County Council after the State Police opened their own investigation of the Walmart thefts he committed and got him charged and arrested.

  19. Unfortunately Hubbard should have that seat. But since that petty thief got sworn in, it goes to caucus with the repubs.

    1. You think that timing wasn't planned ?

    2. Yeah it's a damn shame that the GOP gets to keep this seat...I know they're are rules in cases like this but that doesn't make it right...

      Delete
    3. If Noel had any character at all he should have kept Popplewell from being sworn in and concede the seat to Hubbard....but that's cutthroat politics where character doesn't exist...

    4. If the tables were turned would the demacrats give up the seat. I think not sit.

    5. Probably not... but that doesn't make any difference it's the principal of the matter and regardless of which party, it's not the right thing to do...

    6. Mr. Gray, first you pop off about a cover up, and that Jamey Noel was in on it because Popplewell is his pet.

And Mr. Anonymous went so far as to accuse Jamey Noel of using his influence to keep an ISP investigation from happening.

Now Mr. Gray, you are accusing Jamey Noel of waiting until after his swearing-in to have him step down. Ridiculous. When you go from one incorrect conspiracy theory to the next without acknowledging you were wrong you begin to lose credibility. (Like Mike Hutt)

The Republicans are doing a find job. They actually prosecute their bad apples and encourage them to drop out. Unlike the Democrats (example: Perkins).

And HT, I'm disappointed you went along with all these ridiculous conspiracies, all the while the ISP was investigating and justice was going through the proper steps. It was just a shame Mr. Popplewell didn't have the character to step down from both PD and CC immediately.

      Oh well, conspiracy on, fellas.

    7. The whole thing does smell of a cover up just by the way it came down...Maybe the ISP investigation will sort things out, but don't believe for a minute that politics weren't and aren't continuing to be in play here.

    8. Yes there was an attempt to cover the whole thing up. 1st, why did he only get a suspension, and no criminal charges from CPD after the first incidents of felony credit card fraud which was only dealt with because it came out ? 2nd, why did he not resign before he was sworn in to the council position ? Answer to keep it in the hands of the republican party, and 3rd to comment on your republicans prosecute the bad apple statement. Why did Sheriff Noel take no action when his third in command physically pushed one deputy and a few days later got into a fight with a sergeant resulting in minor injuries ? Instead tried to keep it under the rug until it came out. Yes that's a cover up too. Just admit between the Sheriff's department, Clarksville PD and it's council there are and were some shady actions here. But it's just business as usual in politics. Crooked is the norm.
