Recently elected Clark county councilman Mike Popplewell (R) apparently is back in trouble. According to the News /Tribune Popplewell was given the choice to resign from the Clarksville P.D. after an alleged theft from a local business. Popplewell submitted his resignation but denied the theft charges.
Even before the recent election where Popplewll finished second and is to be seated on the county council in 2017 there were allegations of credit card misconduct in a prior incident. While Mr. Popplewell is entitled to due process and his day in court The BatBlog believes Sheriff and Clark Co. Rep. chair Jamey Noel needs to thoroughly investigate these allegations and if any improprieties are proven to be true, Noel should ask and push for Popplewell's immediate resignation on the County council as well...
The BatBlog isn't sure of the legal ramifications in these incidents by an elected official... but to protect county residents of another embarrassment by an office holder and because it is just the right thing to do...Noel needs to step forward and take control of this situation and immediately...
If the voters only knew of all of Poppawell's past. While a reserve police officer, not on duty and in his personal care, it is alleged he was in a drag race on hey 131 and a boy lost his life in a crash. Poppawell left the scene and was never charged.
ReplyDeleteThis is one of many laws broken by this guy. He will eventually hang himself. He'said sick!
^^This is true and not rumored^^
DeleteHe is certainly innocent until proven guilty and allegations are just allegations, but allegations do seem to follow this guy around. Noel as both sheriff and party chair needs to be all over this...
ReplyDeleteNoel won't be all over it, he is part of the problem.
DeleteWhile a Clarksville Police Officer, he literally threatened me thru Facebook messenger because I posted that I didn't like the Fast and Furious movies. Seriously. I still have all of the messages. This guy has no business representing our city in any way.
ReplyDeleteYeah it makes you wonder about the voting public at times. We have an admitted thief on the GCC school board who was re-elected and now this...Hopefully action will be taken on this.
ReplyDeleteMany people have said......Mike is such a nice guy, and no way he could have done anything wrong.
ReplyDeleteThis is how evil works. They get everyone thinking they could do not wrong, and when your not watching them, they will steal.
I talked with fellow police officers of MP, and they don't like him nor trust him. He will screw you in a minute.
He was caught having sex in his squad car while on duty.
He stole a fellow officers debit card info, and set up an account at a car parts place.
Many many other stories I could tell.
More truths and not rumored. He is a sick entitled punk and cannot be trusted.
DeleteHow did this guy pass a background check and a psychological evaluation to get hired in the first place ??????
ReplyDeleteMy guess would be like the majority of police hirees around here...he knew somebody...
DeleteJust another example of Clark Co. law enforcement covering their own. Looks like the prosecutor would set the example. Especially after the drug court cover up.
ReplyDeleteHe will probably turn up as a probation officer since he is from Clarksville.
ReplyDeleteThere needs to be a thorough investigation of Popplewell and the whole Clarksville P.D.by an independent source like the Indiana state police or County sheriff's dept. Was there a cover up of these allegations ??? this could get interesting...
ReplyDelete"There needs to be a thorough investigation of Popplewell and the whole Clarksville P.D.by an independent source like the Indiana state police or County sheriff's dept"
Delete?????? Where have you been???
Better look elsewhere if you want an independent investigation.
Yeah I know ...it will probably be hush , hushed like a lot of things around here...
DeleteThe investigation needs to go higher than the Clarksville PD. The council is and was aware of Popplewell's activity and hid it too. Now hearing rumor that Noel has given him some kind of office job, like I said rumor to this point but wouldn't surprise me at all. Clark County government is more corrupt now than ever. Give the crooks a job seems to be the norm now.
DeleteSurly Weber will offer him a probation officer job. Maybe he can not monitor people on home incarceration like the last guy. No need to know where they are as long as they are paying.
ReplyDelete"Bagman".
ReplyDeleteThis is Jeremy Mull's baby. He and he alone can get to the bottom of it. What does or doesn't do will tell you all you need to know about what kind of prosecutor he is.
