The Rodden Affair.... Deceit, Humiliation, and Shame

Clark Co. once again is rocked by the embarrassment and outrage over the behavior of another one of their public officials, this time the head law enforcement official of the county, sheriff Danny Rodden. The apologists made up of his attorney, political cronies,  and friends are coming forward trying to massage their fragile egos by declaring Rodden a good man who just made a mistake late in his career, and questioning the motivation, purpose and the validity of  the federal and state law enforcement official's investigation.

First of all Rodden is not a good man. Good men don't break laws that they swore to uphold and in the process betraying the trust the public honored you with  by electing you to the head law enforcement position in the county. Most important "good" men do not betray, humiliate and bring shame to their innocent spouse, children , family members who have done nothing wrong but to put their trust and loyalty into the hands of someone who would betray them so shamelessly.

The apologists also try and minimize the betrayal by questioning the seriousness of the crime by questioning, why are the feds involved ?, and wanting to know why the prostitute wasn't named ?. The apologists are grasping at every straw possible in an attempt to deflect the blame away from the only one who is responsible and must own up and take full responsibility.... and that's Danny Rodden.

It's not about the crime, what would it matter if the prostitute was named....she is an admitted prostitute. The state and federal law enforcement were working on a corruption in government task force. Sure there are more serious crimes to be investigated but  the emphasis and the issue is not about the crime. It is the deceit, the humiliation and the shame Rodden has brought upon the citizens of Clark Co. along with personal hurt on his family that is the real issue.

Moving forward while Rodden is due his day in court, he needs to resign now. Public trust, his honesty, his honorable legacy, his good reputation....they are all gone. If you're guilty.... man up, step up like a man admit your guilt and move on. If you're guilty don't burden the residents of Clark Co., your family , friends and apologists with more embarrassment and humiliation of what will be a very public plea bargain or trial ...The sooner you can put this behind  the better off everyone will be ....Resign Now !!!

  1. You got caught up in the drama HT.

Sure it looks bad...and, personally, for Rodden if true, it is bad...for him and his family.

Explain to me how this is about public corruption though? Like Goliath said...if Rodden was getting paid off or paid sexual favors in exchange for 'looking the other way' on a prostitute ring I would say this hullaballo was justified.

But this is about a guy alleged to have lied about being with a hooker. Your a big fan of 60's tee vee. (I guess that's when you started watching Batman). When are you going to run your Batblog article CONDEMNING old Marshall Dillon for his CORRUPT relationship with 'Miss Kitty' (THE SHAME!!!)

Meanwhile, ignore the point if you want to...but the fact is that it pretty dad blasted weird that this one, protected and unnamed hooker, snares two Sheriffs in two months. WTH?!!

Get off the drugs son...there is a bigger picture and you aint seein' it.

  2. Well G. personally I have no problem with people who avail themselves or hang out with prostitutes.

Unless you're elected and swear to uphold the laws and...prostitution is illegal

So you're saying it's not corrupt for a sheriff to avail himself of prostitutes look the other way...give her special favors monetarily, then lie about all the while swearing to uphold the law...

Not to mention paying taxpayer money for $300.00 for a BJ....

With that reasoning it's okay for him to look the other way on drug deals, domestic violence etc. which may or may not have happened as well...

It's not about the crime...it's about the hypocrisy and the deceit.

By the way Ms Kitty owned the bar and the sex was consensual which is not a crime...

  3. By the way you're sounding like NH Mike...It's okay to lie and cavort and give special favors and police equipment to prostitutes because he's a nice guy....

this is just the tip of an iceberg and you know it... there's a lot more BS going on around here other than $300.00 BJ's

  6. Maybe the people who have known him for a long time and have always been treated well by him and seen him do great things around the community, refuse to let this incident define him, if true.

I can understand people being upset about these allegations, but I will also understand friends withholding judgement. He has earned that with us.

  7. Not to mention the fact that drugs are widely available in the clark co. jail. Rodden knew this. Every inmate knows this. And as Jacobi and company found out, inmates have rights too. This is a much more serious matter in my opinion. Its a fact that drugs were available. Not a rumor, but a fact. I suggest that any prior inmate who has knowledge contact the Indiana State Police Public Corruption Unit.

  8. So I guess giving a badge and uniform to a known criminal is NOT public corruption? If someone will lie to get out of trouble then is it not reasonable to think they will lie to get someone else in trouble if the need arises? As for saying it was entrapment,I have not read anywhere in the indictment about the FBI placing any of Mr. Rodden's body parts in someone else's mouth. He should have just manned up and admitted his mistake, not lie about it and then try to get others to lie also. Of course, this is assuming there is truth to the allegations.

  9. A little bit of advice for Rodden would be to ditch Wilder and fast. This is a federal charge the federal prosecutors will chew him up and spit him out.

This isn't Jeffersonville Or Clark county where Wilder benefits from the good ole boy network of prosecutors and judges. This is the big leagues and Wilder is out, of his league that is not trash can.

  10. Wilder says "Rodden disappointed with himself" in today's c. J. Good job lawyer dumbass! You just told the world your client knows he is guilty as hell! This just gets better.

  11. Where does it say that he used taxpayer money to pay for this service? I missed that detail.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Well in reality since taxpayers pay his salary, everything he buys is using "taxpayer money". I suppose you could make the argument he can spend his money anyway he likes including $300.00 BJ's. Which is fine...but in his capacity as sheriff if Joe Blow (no pun intended) gets caught with a prostitute getting a BJ what do you think he would do ???

If you do the crime you pay the time.....

  13. Good catch Anon. on what Wilder said about his client...If I was Rodden I would be looking for some high priced experienced with dealing with the feds lawyer.

Hobnobbing with all the judges and prosecutors here in Clark Co. will do nothing for you in federal court.

The feds have some sharp cookies on the prosecution side...Wilder is out of his class this isn't a drunk driving case in front of his buddy Jacobi...this is the real deal.. real judges and attorneys

  14. I believe that Mr. Wilder passed his bar exam at Buckets.
