Noel, Maples on the Red Carpet at Barnstable Brown Derby Gala

Clark Co. sheriff  Jamey Noel and his trusty sidekick Scotty Maples enjoyed their celebrity status Friday night at the annual Barnstable - Brown Kentucky Derby party. The recent publicity from their reality series 60 Days In appears to have put stars Noel and Maples in the celebrity limelight along with many other reality stars, actors , musicians and other celebrities that attended the extravagant event.

Below is a video detailing the gift bag that every attendee to the annual Barnstable - Brown extravaganza received...and a good time was had by all...

NOTE*** HT of the "Award Winning" BatBlog wasn't invited to this year's event...

UPDATE... Looks like Matt (Lapdog) Owen was in attendance as well...

  1. Were tater tots served? Or did Noel and Maples sell them at the party?

  5. Let's not be hard on these two...They are just following in the great tradition of other famous celebrity couples, Cheech and Chong, Abbot and Costello, Laurel and Hardy and Beavis and Butthead.

  8. Don't be a hater! Noel has to suffer through being a celebrity so that he could clean up our jail.

  9. They need to hurry and sign up for season three to pay for the lawsuit.

If someone tells you they're suicidal, and they are then totally under your supervision and control, you keep an eye on them.

Prayers for the family. Beautiful and loved young mother. This should not have happened.

    1. So true. It is unfathomable that this occurred. ISP is investigating?? Isn't the Sheriff a former ISP Officer?

  11. Probably a petty item, but you wonder if they each drove their new, $60,000 black, county-owned SUV's with county provided fuel over to the Barnstable Brown Gala? Strains the imagination to think that this is a legitimate law enforcement related outing to justify the use of county resources.

  12. That is a bad look if the County gets sued over the inmate's death....an inmate who allegedly told the staff she was depressed commits suicide in the holding cell while the Sheriff and his top staff members are attending a Derby Gala in Louisville by virtue of their reality t.v. status for "cleaning up" the jail with new high tech surveillance equipment obtained for said t.v. show...good stuff for a closing argument.

    Quite a dashing group
    of representatives from Clark County!
They looked very dapper and represented Clark County very well.
It is good to see them invited and for them go and to support
the great Kentucky Derby and the neat and fun celebrations.

    1. Dapper?! Are you kidding? Maple's outfit is overly large and doesn't match and Noel looks like he can't breath in that Polyester Suit.

  15. Protect and Serve....was Noel negligent in his duty when he did not ensure the young Mother was protected.. from herself?

  16. A lot of correctional facilities place a guard outside of the cell to observe the inmate who is on a suicide watch...not sure of the procedure at Clark Co....

  17. Clark County Suicide Inmates are checked every 15 minutes per policy. I am sure this will be easy to see if that was followed. I am also sure no matter what you will think they are wrong.

    1. No until the investigation is concluded I put no blame, just a tragic situation. Clark Co. may want to look into their suicide watch policy though. Maybe restructuring a suicide cell and having constant observation would be a better policy IMO...

  18. The News/Tribune is reporting that according to Noel the defendant wasn't on suicide watch. Which seems unusual since she reportedly stated "she wanted to kill herself."

    1. HAHAHAHA! I highly doubt Scotty was that big in high school.

  20. Right. She said she wanted to kill herself, but they didn't take any extra precautions. Ace operation they're running.

  21. You know what really gets me? I had seen the list of A-listers who were invited to that party. Jamey and Scotty weren't on that list, obviously. Tickets to that party are over $1,000. I hope that taxpayer dollars weren't used to buy tickets to that event.

  22. They put her in a suicide suit, they checked her per policy. What would you have had them do? They have just a few padded cells according to the news article. If they were taken what should they have done?

    1. What would any sheriff do? Go to a derby party and pose for pictures on the red carpet!

    2. When put in a suicide suit all other clothing is supposed to be removed...reportedly this young women had an article of clothing around her neck. Apparently the proper procedure may not have been followed by the jail staff...a real tragedy that will certainly generate a lawsuit against the C.C. sheriff's dept.

  23. Tickets for the party were purchased from proceeds of tater tots sale

  24. Where were all the wonderful cameras that were provided by making a laughing stock of our jail? Why wasn't someone watching her on camera?? Or were they too busy eating tater tots?

  25. Where was a suicide suit mentioned, and what the hell is a suicide suit?

    1. I bet it looks a lot like that thing Scotty wore to the party.

    2. Noel held one up at his news conference to show what she was wearing. They are supposed to be the only thing a suicidal inmate is allowed while on suicide watch. Apparently the jail staff must have dropped the ball though as it was reported she had another article of clothing around her neck...

  26. Noel, Maples and Owen have been going to the Barnstable Brown party for at least a couple of years. It has nothing to do with celebrity. I'm sure they pay for their tickets. I just wish that they would go spring for what it costs for an actual tux, since it is a black tie event.

  30. As an earlier post said a quick facebook search will show Noel and Maples have been attending this for years. Onto the next issue you say they failed to remove some of her clothing. Yet you fail to mention Floyd County is in a class action law suit for forcefully removing clothing. Damned if you do damned if you dont. What I am gathering here is that you want Noel in the building 24-7... You want him to personally search the jail, the inmates, take gun permits and whatever else you think he should do. The death is tragic in every sense of the word. It would be wrong to assume anything malicious or negligent was done however.

    1. Personally I could give a rat's ass one way or another if they attend once or fifty times.

Per the Floyd Co. class action suit you referred to...different circumstance... they were not on suicide watch they were strip searched without due cause.

Of course it isn't necessary for Noel to be there 24/7 nobody said that...
What is necessary is that jail staff most importantly must follow procedure for inmates on suicide watch... from what I gather and my honest opinion the procedure may have been compromised which legally is grounds for negligence..

Noel as head over the dept. ultimately is responsible regardless if he was there or not, it is his duty to make sure the proper procedures are in place and acted correctly upon.

Will wait for the final investigation results but I would be surprised if a lawsuit isn't filed and if the facts are correctly reported a lawsuit would appear to be a legitimate option for the family involved...

    2. Regardless they would be sued for forcefully removing clothing just as quickly. You are missing the point. He is responsible however you continue to paint him as a villain. This is an unfortunate part of corrections work.

      Delete
    3. Not painting him as a villain at all, don't particularly like his penchant for look at me publicity but that's just my opinion. The suicide was a tragedy that may have been averted if a better suicide watch procedure was implemented, but Noel isn't a villain but does bear some of the blame due to the position he holds...

  31. Do Noel or Maples take their wives to this event? If not they should consider it, their outfits alone will have people talking about them.

  32. Just curious if Noel's sister in law was on duty as a jail nurse when this happened?

    1. Why in the world would this matter?

  33. So Jamey Noel has said that she did using a piece of clothing, but on Channel 41 showed what she was wearing (the suicide suit). How did she have clothing? ALSO, hourly checks? A woman has the propensity to commit suicide and you're going to check on her once an hour? The county will pay big time for this one.
