  4. Be careful not to slander him like the Hollingsworth camp did (cha ching!).

That is an alleged illegal turn signal.

    1. Ease up on the Libertarians... Some have good ideas and their V.P. candidate is reasonable, respected ex governor..

There are some whackos though... example Debbie who used to write for News/Tribune ...but whackos aren't mutually exclusive to the Libertarian party... Republican's have Trump and Cruz...

    2. I think that Debbie, and her 'Opinions" did more harm than good to the paper.

  6. What are the chances this would happen so closely to the election. Not that Russell would win, but did he get ambushed? Russell could have caused Trey to lose in a close race.

    1. I seriously doubt any politics were involved in this. No slight intended but I don't think R.B. will have any effect at all on this race. Libertarians still aren't a viable force or factor in many major races including this one. Not saying they are entitled to their opinions and places on the ballot...They just aren't serious considerations to most folks...

  8. It's sad, but, truth is Russell wanted to sabotage his own race. It's very easy to blame it on a conspiracy by 'Trey'. LOL. Yeah...that's it...Russell lost because Trey orchestrated this situation.

  9. Neither Trey not Russell orchestrated anything, lol.

A cop had a bad day and took it out on a civilian. Oops, that particular civilian happened to have both cop friends and CopBlock friends, and his arrest was newsworthy. Awkward. And it will probably be expensive. But at least it was just Russ he chose to mess with and not a cop-hater or armed methhead.

Politics was a complicating factor in this incident, not the cause.

  10. Ease up Anon. R.B. may have a legitimate complaint and he is entitled to his political beliefs like them or not...This is probably going to end up a he said, he said situation where the cop gets the benefit of the doubt.

Not saying it's right but cops usually get a pass on these type situations and the best Russell can hope for is a draw unless he has some solid evidence, witness or video proof that proves otherwise.

That's why when dealing with cops especially aggressive, arrogant ones it's best to realize the cop has a built in advantage. Choose your battles wisely and be prepared for the consequences if you step down that road. Doesn't mean you have kowtow or kiss his ass you have rights, but sometimes the battle isn't worth the attempt to prove a point...

  11. People see libertarians as arrogant elitists who disdain every aspect of american politics and lifestyle.

  12. I think that is a misconception...while there are those Lib's that think that our government forces us into doing everything against our will many just want less and more efficient government.

Hardcore Libertarianism will never work... too many people rely on government (to varying degrees) and our system while not perfect is the best society in the world.

The hardcore Lib.s should try Somalia with no government and a true Libertarian society. Unfortunately it is also a survival of the strongest society where the weak are oppressed, violence is rampant and a true human tragedy...

  15. One: I did not flip off the officer. (Even if I did, that would have been protected political speech per SCOTUS)
Two: I did not assault the officer.
Three: I was the one that was assaulted.
Four: The charges didn't even survive a probable cause hearing. Which is the lowest bar possible. I am innocent.

Do I believe this was politically motivated? Nope. I believe that it was motivated by an officer that wears his emotions on his sleeve. I thank those who were willing to allow me my day in court before passing judgement. To those who would have my fingers broken, I still love you and wish you the best. I just thank God that it was me and not someone else. If they are messing with me then they are leaving you alone. That's part of the reason I decided to run. I want to stand in the gap between our oppressive government and the citizens of the ninth district. I actually got to live that on Sept 16. Stay tuned for further announcements and a complete account of what really transpired.

  16. Update: all charges have been dropped.

  17. Further update: Civil Rights lawsuit has been filed against the officer.
