More Taxes...Gasoline

Seated Left to R...Ron "Wishy washy " Grooms
Steve Stemler, and Jim Smith
Indiana lawmakers (Ind. house) are proposing a $.10 a gallon increase on the current tax on gasoline. These political representatives are citing a need to improve and maintain the streets, roads and highway infrastructure as justification for the increase.

Just as the price of gasoline has somewhat stabilized to more acceptable levels for consumers... lawmakers want to squeeze more out of Indiana residents. This tax which may not seem like a lot but adds quite a bit over a year of traveling and along with the ridiculous tolls on area bridges, throws added costs on area residents to just get back and forth to work and do business.

Three local lawmakers met Saturday in a town hall meeting in Jeffersonville Steve Stemler (D) Ron "Wishy washy" Grooms(R) and Jim Smith(R)  discussed the proposed tax increase.... Stemler was the only one to speak firmly against the  increase, "Wishy washy"Grooms was as usual non committal one way or another which probably means he will vote FOR the Rep. sponsored bill. Smith was non committal as well.

The GOP dominates the state government so look forward for the Rep. backed bill to become law and  local drivers and commuters (especially locals) already burdened with bridge tolls will take another one in the ASS !!!

  4. I have no problem with raising funds to repair our crumbling infrastructure. Its been many years since it was raised. Vehicles fuel economy is much better, causing less funds per mile. All costs, pavement, concrete, steel, labor have all gone up.

  6. these types of taxes always hurt the less fortunate among us, as a percentage of income, this will be devastating to the lower and lower middle classes... and that is just fine with the GOP. bastards.

  7. I wish people would quit bitching about the tolls. I pay the tolls every day that I go to work. And considering that this is the only way they bridges were going to be built, I am fine with it. I'm the one using the bridge, so I should help pay for it. And the time, gas and mileage it saves me is worth every penny.

    1. I respect your opinion and am glad the new bridges are so advantageous for you, but have you heard of a thing called taxes ??? How many bridges and roads have been built over the years WITHOUT tolls ???

There is so much wasted tax dollars both state and federal there is no reason EVER for tolls...It's just another method the little guy gets one hung in him...

  8. We pay a lot of tax dollars and in return we expect these dollars to provide convenient and efficient ways to travel to work and other needs. The inefficient way these tax dollars are spent shouldn't penalize us to the point that tolls are needed. We have already paid enough to finance these bridges but through the delays and government red tape that had to be gone through to build them probably quadrupled the cost...

  9. One final thought...there are bridges and roads being built NOW and in the recent past in other locations WITHOUT TOLLS. Yes this was an expansive project, but the government (state and federal) delayed it for years and years sky rocketing the costs...

Taxpayers are paying extra because of government's inefficiencies...

  10. There will be a march
    and protest meeting
    at the courthouse
    to demand that ADDITIONAL taxes
on gas and ADDITIONAL state taxes be implemented ASAP.

You Deplorables do not have the right to demand accountability
    from appointed or elected officials.

WE will march and riot in the streets
every day and demand more be taken from you.

Hoe dare you attempt to control the government!
    You work FOR the government
    and we control YOU.

How dare you question us or our inefficiencies...!
