According to Clarksville city manager Kevin (Jung Un) Baity the city had no say so in determining the fate of the over 200 geese recently murdered who resided at the Clarksville town hall property.
The BatBlog has a hard time believing that when the city contracted with the company they weren't given some option on whether to relocate or destroy the geese. That can be equated to going to the local butcher shop and the butcher telling you get what meat he decides for you...
It sound more like passing the buck and throwing the blame elsewhere on what was a stupid and heartless decision by Clarksville officials, who probably thought the execution would never be publicly known and are now attempting to cover their collective asses.
This wouldn't be the first time Jung Un Baity stuck his foot in his mouth. He threatened earlier in the year to flood Jeffersonville if they didn't share in paying for Clarksville's drainage problems. Who ever made the final decision to brutally kill these birds needs to man up and explain the reasoning behind it, as curious public would like to know... it is after all our tax dollars with goose blood all over them.....
I've heard Clarksville has an unwritten policy to not put females or minorities in supervisory positions. The town lives in a bubble.

State disputes Clarksville town manager's geese claim
Contractor asked for euthanasia permit
By ELIZABETH BEILMAN
Sept 7, 2017
CLARKSVILLE — The animal control officer contracted to handle Clarksville's resident geese population says he filled out a permit application stipulating the animals would be euthanized.
Fields said he also filled out an application to euthanize the geese based on a directive from a town member, but he wasn't sure who, though he knew it wasn't Town Manager Kevin Baity. The town manager said he suspects that must have been prior to his hiring last year.
Baity told the News and Tribune on Wednesday that the DNR filled out a permit application and sent it to him to sign. The form, which asks for the applicant to circle the type of permit requested, shows "Canada goose trap and euthanize" circled.
However....OOOPS...
A DNR spokesman disputed this claim in an email Thursday, claiming it was Baity who filled out the application.

Council will remind Baity that "we are paying you over one hundred thousand a year and totally free health insurance" so you are officially our pet and fall guy.
ReplyDeleteAnd speaking of them concerning "deny, deceive.ignore" something else that comes to mind and I apologize for going off topic a little is Hauber's gun range. That place was going to be built no matter how many residents complained and no matter how much the school board complained. And then there is the $18000 a year supposedly being paid by the town so the police can shoot there even though the range they currently use is free of charge thanks to the Sheriff Department.
