The Sherman Minton Bridge !!!

You Think We've Got it Bad......It Could Be Worse
While the closing of the Sherman Minton Bridge has caused traffic jams, delays and teed off motorists, it could be worse. Can you imagine what would happen if the Kennedy Bridge would have to be shut down as well. Total chaos and a
real Carmegedon. Structurally deficient is the way experts describe the Kennedy, and that's before the closure of the SM. That's real assuring considering the traffic will now increase about 40 % above normal and have you noticed the potholes and the pavement on the Kennedy. For my money, the SM seemed like the better bridge.....
OOps !!!
How far you think the traffic would back up if the Clark Memorial was our only access to Louisville ???? Maybe Indianapolis...While the Kennedy will most likely stand up ( great choice of words) to the demand, stranger things have happened....This closing of the SM will possibly move the Ky./ In. Bridges project forward faster than a snail's pace it is at currently. But how long does it take to build a bridge???  Like 7 or 8 years... now that's real assuring 7 or 8 more years of gridlock. And that's assuming that our bureaucrats can get it built at all. It's only been discussed, planned, discussed some more and re planned for what twenty years now, and still no solid plan on when the project will begin.

But like I said  "It could be worse." So I would like to leave everybody with a few images to contemplate while you're sitting in traffic for probably at least 6 months, and with winter coming it's going to be a real hoot for those who commute to Louisville everyday. Just keep repeating "It could be worse", "It could be worse." While your car get's on the verge of overheating, and you're sitting still, burning up $4.00 a gallon gas....

It Could Be Worse !!!

Mass transit and I do mean "mass" transit

  1. HT Kentucky can't even paint a bridge in 7 to 8 years. What makes you believe we can build one in that short of a period of time.

  2. Agreed Brian, and they haven't been too successful in building one, as well........
