Jeffersonville City Clerk ....Democratic Primary Election 2015
More than likely it won't happen but it is time to retire Jeffersonville City Clerk Vicki Conlin. It has nothing to do with the job she has done, as over the years as she has a mostly stellar work record. The only reason the BatBlog feels it is time for her to go is the lowdown reported to us is that her feud with former City Court judge Ken Pierce ultimately led to political strings being pulled that led to the abolishing the court by the Jeff city council...
We won't get into the why's and wherefore's or who was right or wrong in the feud between Conlin and Pierce over record keeping, but if Conlin maneuvered behind the scenes to oust Pierce and the court as we are led to believe, then this is a egregious betrayal of local voters and taxpayers and fellow Democrats. There is no reason two adults office holders of the same party couldn't work out their differences for the common good of local residents.
We expect these childish political stunts from the current city council but are shocked by Conlin's apparent alleged participation which has led to an unnecessary burden put on the county courts and fiscal burden thrown onto Clark Co., which ultimately could lead to higher taxes for area taxpayers. Backroom political games shouldn't be tolerated because basically all it does is cost us money and progress.
Conlin's opponent former fire fighter and city councilman Denny Frantz is a competent replacement for Ms. Conlin, but her name recognition and many years of service will make her difficult to beat. Nevertheless the BatBlog feels it is time for a change in the City Clerk's office and endorse Denny Frantz for the position...

Wilder used her like a tool to strike his enemy Pearce. She wasn't smart enough to know she was being used. Or, worse maybe. Maybe she didn't care. Either way she needs to bee like 99 problems but she ain't one.
ReplyDeleteBatblog gets this one completely wrong. Not only is Conlin the proven best candidate, but she was visibly against the abolishment of the court.
ReplyDeletePearce dug his own grave and HT shows how uninformed he truly is.
I don't give too much credibility to some dumbass that can't even spell Pierce....
ReplyDeleteThat's P-I-E-R-C-E birdbrain and the BatBlog stands behind their story...
I agree Vicki is the best candidate, but I'd like to see what evidence anonymous has she was "visibly against the abolishment of the court."
ReplyDeleteAnon. has no evidence because there is none....
ReplyDeleteConlin will win no doubt, as only a handful of people will vote in this primary where there are few contested races and name recognition is the main factor.
We just can't continue to let these politicians use their personal whims and grudges at the detriment of taxpayers.
The decision to end city court was a stupid, political move and the council was told by many prominent people, attorneys that use and know the system warned them against it.
To allow office holders to get away with these political games sends out a wrong message and just increases the feeling of entitlement that a lot of these long time office holders have.
That's why I will be voting for Denny Frantz....
I thought you lived in Louisville.
DeleteI work in a restaurant and had Frantz as a customer. worst attitude as a stranger. seemd as if he had unresolved issues of his own that somehow ruled him as 'higher class' than everyone in poverty that he interacts with.
DeleteMan, in that picture she looks possessed...
ReplyDelete(#Supernatural)
possessed or she just smoked a doobie
ReplyDelete(# stoned)
ReplyDeleteVicki Conlin is by far the most qualified for the office of city clerk. Please read the candidate interview in the Wednesday, April 22 edition of the News and Tribune if you have any doubt about that.

I have the utmost respect for your opinion Chopper and Ms. Conlin is a fine lady.I just didn't like the way the City Court thing came down and her part in it.
ReplyDeleteJudge Pierce is a fine man as well and didn't deserve having his court abolished. Denny Frantz was a well respected city councilman, firefighter who would do an excellent job as Clerk...
But I concede Conlin will probably win....
