"The Donald" shocked the experts, proved the polls wrong and hit on the frustration of the rural working class people and Donald J. Trump is now President of the United States. Democrats across the board felt the wrath of the working class who have seen good paying jobs dry up and went for change. As a Democrat I accept the result and wish Trump success as a successful presidency is good for all Americans.
Trump promised some big things and it's up to him now to deliver those big promises. He has the huge advantage of Rep. majorities in the House and Senate....let's see if he can hold up what he said he can do...Clinton was the personification of the establishment and career politician and couldn't overcome that and the political baggage of her years in service.
Locally and nationally and in the state,Democrats took a serious pounding and even some good and popular Democratic incumbents got caught up in onslaught. The GOP has a stronghold now on the electorate and will be given a chance to make things better...Congratulations and Good luck to all the winners !!!
More on Election 2016 as the week moves on...Thanks to everyone for checking out The BatBlog we have put up some good numbers ourselves this week...
Dems should have avoided trying to provide health care and focused more on discrimatory bathrooms. Sadly, that is what ruarl America was more concerned with.
ReplyDeleteHistoric moment....
ReplyDeleteAmericans have shown that they are fed up with the current government.
Now we will see if Trump can live up to the challenges ahead.
I agree Woo, but we keep electing these old dinosaurs like Mitch, McConnell, McCain, Pelosi etc. too...if we're going to clean house let's be complete about...
ReplyDeletePelosi is from California. They elect nutcases!
ReplyDeleteApparently Kentucky does too...
DeleteOne thing will never change and that is people's responses after an election. If their candidate wins, they are quick to say that the people spoke and they felt the chosen candidate was right for the job. The opposition always says that the election was rigged, tainted, or the people who should have voted, just stayed home because they felt the loser would win without a hitch. Or as some of my democrat friends stated, "Hilliary would win by a Landslide". Of course that did not happen. Hence, the protest (which by the way only occur when the democrats lose for some crazy reason). Same as the school board and Teresa Perkins winning. Alice Butler stated that most people did not even know who they were voting for. That is not giving much credit to the voters of Clark County. I certainly go into the polls knowing everything I can about a candidate. But we all eventually get that there is nothing we can do about our candidate winning until next time to vote, and pray that it will go our way. I am personally glad it is over and looking forward to some positive changes.
ReplyDeleteLisa, I've never said the election was rigged... that was your President-Elect. He went so far as to say if you win the Electoral College and lose the popular vote, you should not be President. Hmm... He deleted all those tweets, but not before they were captured for eternity.
ReplyDeleteI won't say he won "fair and square" but I do acknowledge that he won. I'm sad for this country, that we have devolved into this mass of people who don't care all that much about equal treatment. And why is it that if you live on a farm somewhere, your vote counts more than city folks votes?
The Democrats turned out for this election... they just happen to live in the wrong places. Hillary's win of the popular vote is projected to be 1.8 million votes by the time all absentee votes are counted.
Hillary won big states like California and that is the only reason she would have won the Popular vote. America spoke, and like it or not there is nothing anyone can do about it for 4 years.
ReplyDeleteCountry folks are hard workers. They felt that this country was slipping away, with free phones, food stamps, feeding school children before, during, and after school. The worry abut bathrooms for lbtg communities, while jobs were going to foreign countries. Illegal non English speaking workers on job sites on American soil, no one giving a crap, while lazy children, young adults setting in front of the TV playing video games all day. Illegal alians who were deported back to Mexico numerous times killing American's when they shouldn't be here, or driving without a license or insurance. No one gave a crap. A president that sided with thugs while allowing them in the white house.
ReplyDeleteI could go on and on!
Finally, someone that may change this!
