Send in the Clowns - Jeff Politics 2011
Well if you read GAW and the CCC they have morphed into Jeff's version of "Send in the Clowns" with back and forth accusations of an alleged anonymous phone call and the back and forth on MM's changing Party. No wonder Jeffersonville has the reputation it does when it comes to politics. What ever happened to discussing issues ?? And they're are plenty of them in this years election (clowns and issues) Come on HM and Goliath, both of you support good candidates let's talk issues not who called who and when. Goliath don't turn GAW into a political duel between you and M.H. It's in M.H's DNA but don't get sucked into the cesspool of local political bickering and dirty tricks. GAW is losing it's moxey and style, and alienating some of it's regular readers.
ET TU Goliath
Strangely,MM is always left out of your nifty collages lampooning the candidates......
ReplyDeleteOK, OK, OK....let's talk ISSUES!
ReplyDeleteH-T: You are a smart and observant individual,
whom has "tax" and "payer"
in your blog name.
Sooo...Big Guy, now be of good spirit about this.
Also, call Tammy and Pammy and ask them for help
on this one!
I'm sure they understand money and shopping and such.
A "TAX" ISSUE FOR HOOSIERS.
This is an ENIGMATIC CHALLENGE
the Bat-Blog
to find out the answer!
Just how much
does incumbent Jeffersonville City Council member Connie Sellers
receive
in TOTAL COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
PAID BY THE TAXPAYERS
by holding TWO paid jobs
with the City of Jeffersonville simultaneously?
Salary # 1 from the Building Commissioner's Office as a "Code Enforcement Officer".
Salary #2 as a member of the Jeffersonville City Council.
Retirement benefits (Public Employment Retirement Fund ).
Generous dental and medical insurance benefits.
An office in the Building commissioner's area and a second office in the city council members' office area. (A general obligation municipal bond issue paid from the tax base by property tax payers pays pays the "rent" for these two spaces.)
Support staff like the availability of a secretary, etc.
Telephones in the two available offices plus a free mobile phone.
Use of various office machines, computer and software, desks, filing cabinets, paper, etc.
The cost of utilities: electricity, water, sewer, heat and air conditioning.
A free auto paid for by the city property tax payers with free gas, maintenance and repairs, and insurance provided.
Very generous travel allowances for hotel rooms, seminar costs, food and transportation reimbursement and allowance, etc.
If a person is employed in a private business, all of these costs must be supported by having to work and fight to earn a profit before being able to pay for ANY of these very expensive items.
In these tough economic times, NOW MORE THAN EVER, it is very difficult to keep a private business afloat.
The value of all of these MULTIPLE TAXPAYER SUPPORTED COSTS can be estimated and totaled.
Multiply the total times FOUR YEARS and what do you get?
A pretty good deal that WE pay for."
Totally agree Anon., HT aware of CS being given this position makes her a virtual rubber stamp for the Top Clown...She needs to be replaced ASAP
ReplyDeleteCS also a RINO....
ReplyDeleteThanks for the criticism HT. Goliath
ReplyDeletejust find it natural to snap when NS
goes on the attack etc.,
Plus, Goliath Films International is
fun. But, Goliath takes your point.
Yep, H-T, once again, you you are right on the money!
ReplyDeletePlease try to find out the estimated value of the total benefits and compensation.
You have Bat sources in Gotham City!
The Bat-Blog is issues/analysis/results.
All of those things add up.
The salaries and benefits alone are substantial.
$$$$
A "famous local attorney" has already threatened to sue if she is terminated from the
"Code Enforcement Officer" job next year by the new mayor.
That's refreshing.
A big PR problem for the Republican slate's advertsing for the General Election 2011.
ReplyDeleteTough to defend.
A big drag on the ticket.
TG will be gone so he can't be blamed in the fall.
The Libertarian/The Tea Party candidate will have a field day.
Hey Big G, GAW still the 2nd best blog in Jeff....
ReplyDeleteDreaming HT. Just jealous as Goliath not feature Batman in any of world famous box office smash GFI pitchers
ReplyDelete(making motion picture history).
Instead, Goliath use Foxy Chick, Telephone Man and sometimes even Toilet Paper Man. Much more heroic than Bat Brain.
H-T: "40% would be a VERY large turnout for a municipal election!
ReplyDeleteI hope that Jeffersonville gets that.
Also, check the larger number of registered voters in the entire new city boundary area.
40% of that number would be a huge increase in total votes cast compared to the approximate 6,000 that voted in the municipal election primary four years ago in the former city boundaries.
I think that a 40% turnout is the goal for the spring AND the fall.
Some say it will be around 28%.
At 40%, we would get over a 15,000 voter turn out, I believe.
That seens way too high, so the 40%turnout is probably too high.
40% would be nice with the additional interest created due to a Third Party candidate in the fall.
That would be a great amount of interest and participation.
What does the vaunted prognostication ability of
Hoosier Taxpayer
think the raw vote turnout will be. Percentage?
Draino!
I'm thinking maybe 30%, the older annexed voters will be there, voters with a cause vote. But the younger voters for the most part could care less and it might not hit 25% with no state or national races. In the grand scheme of things politics isn't that important to the majority. and that's what most politicians rely upon...
ReplyDeleteI left MM out of the clown picture as I did RW and TBP because I consider them good legitimate candidates. Goliath is in there because I'm at war with him.
ReplyDeleteThe others earned their positions and are where they rightfully belong...
H-T: Very good analysis. I concur. You are right.
ReplyDeleteIt just isn't that important to people.
This is not going to be a vote the young care about.
It is going to be a voters with a cause or pocketbook vote.
At 25%, it could be around the 9,500 voter mark.
At 30%, it could be around 11,400, but both those still seem way too high to me.
I am still adjusting to a greater number
of the 'Burbs voting.
Draino!
Even "Kevin '11"?.........
ReplyDeleteDraino!
How come I'm always the short guy?
ReplyDeleteI like to think I meet the average height requirement.
HT and your height-bias.
H-T: You are right!
ReplyDeleteThe issues have slipped far past NSBHM with his vote maniplation scams, etc., and now, he has expanded his "wanna be a stalker" activities now expanding to to other candidates.
"NSBHM CAUGHT STALKING YET AGAIN!
It was already a foul enough practice the that ex spouses of the mayoral candidates, like those of TBP, MM, and TG, and soon to be KV,
had been brought into the political races.
Now, NSBHM has EXPANDED his stalking.
NSBHM has admitted secretly photographing a female candidate for office! Chilling.
Much more to come on this incident as the female candidate had been previously warned to beware that she might be physically stalked by this individual.
Draino!
Not to worry Matt. You may not be the tallest in the bunch but you are by far the cutest. LOL!
ReplyDeleteH-T:
ReplyDeleteWhere is "Kevin in eleven's" stalker?
It isn't fair that NSBHM
stalks
other candidates
and doesn't even bother to follow ol "Kevin in eleven" around!
H-T: I saw where you castigated the "I am not a stalker!" NSBHM.
ReplyDeleteNSBHM's next post in response to you on the CCC
was REALLY WEIRD,
as he launched into a strange babling incoherent littiny.
YOU GOT TO HIM!
And he still hasn't come clean about his crooked
"Manipulate the Vote Scam!"
Draino!
H-T: Oh, oh.
ReplyDeleteDude, you've upset the NSBHM!
You may be off his Christmas card list now!
