Interesting Post From Yesterday's Story....

I received an interesting comment from yesterday's story on the Jeffersonville city council. The BatBlog receives many anonymous comments mainly because Google has set it up as the easiest way to submit a comment. Many times the anonymous poster will let me know mainly through e-mail who they are, Yesterday's comment posted anonymously, and I have no idea who it is, but they are apparently privy to and aware of some very pertinent information about the council, canal and sewer problems here in Jeffersonville. I will recreate the the comment (below) and ask that the person responsible to contact The BatBlog and give his name....  if at all possible E-mail at hoosiertaxpayer@outlook.com .

If he wishes to remain anonymous I will understand, but I would like to have a conversation with him thru e-mail about his apparent knowledge of the subject ....also if he wants to contact me but not publish his name I will honor his request. The BatBlog is all about the truth but anonymity is also respected and honored as well...The main thing as always "Stay Vigilant My Friends"

The comment from yesterday:

The plan to resolve the sewer issue is ongoing and all Federal mandates must be met by 2025. Part of the Long Term Control Plan (LTCP) submitted by the city to, and approved by, IDEM and EPA includes a large underground interceptor pipe to collect Combined Sewer Overflows (CSO.) This pipe will run under Chestnut St. from Graham or Main to Pearl. The cost of this project is roughly $20 million. The sewer funding is capped at $10 million unless drainage fee revenues can be included in the bond payments. The current council has nixed the usage of drainage fees for the interceptor line bonding agreement thus nixing the project. You see, the current council won't be around in 2025 when the Fed's whip comes down. These assholes will have you believe that a canal is the answer to all the EPA mandates. NOT TRUE. I know for a fact that the canal does nothing to alleviate CSO' (dumping raw sewage into the Ohio River violating The Clean Water Act) which is all the EPA cares about. In fact, if the canal is built for $50 to $120 million dollars the interceptor line still has to be constructed.

  2. Do not know who this person is but, glad he/she is sharing. More than can be said for the "clown forum".

Hearing Moore has a "May surprise" on the sewer project.

  3. If anonymous knows what he's talking about we have been lied to, All along we were led to believe the canal would satisfy the EPA mandate of sewer overflows.

  4. It would be nice if the council could throw in the 3 mil parking lot money to alleviate the outlandish sewer bills and CFO problem...Of course they'll say it can't be done, different funds...

Thing is it has been done for years upon years, they only use this excuse when it's convenient for their wasteful spending...

  5. Even NSBHM (Not Smart But Homely Mike) spouted about the benefit of the canal solving the EPA problem.

Of course that was before Mike Moore fired his fat ass...Earlier when he liked Moore before he was fired Not Smart Mike said and I quote "If canals were so great...everybody would have one"

  6. If they threw the 3 million "parking lot" money into the sewer fund they would look like geniuses, but were not dealing with geniuses here more like morons.

  8. Yes they do, hopefully he or she will continue either anonymously or publicly on this matter.

The public has been intentionally left in the dark on the REAL cost of the proposed "canal" project as well as the soccer complex . There should be complete transparency where tax dollars go. Unfortunately this council has so far not provided this transparency...

Why not put out the costs associated with this like Savile Row and others have requested...

  10. The interceptor is required by the EPA. There was never a real pipe v. canal choice. The canal was going to be pipe PLUS canal.

Hutt's butthurt has made him dishonest. He's repeating lies he used to call lies. It's a shame.

He liked Waiz in 2011. Now Waiz is an idiot and to blame for all that is wrong in Moore's administration.

The canal used to be too expensive, ridiculous and promoted by lies. Now it's the best thing since sliced bread.

Galligan was an asshole. Now he's a genius.

Day is now night. Night is day.

    Dumbass.

  11. The canal project was/is a economic development tool at best. The canal was also the answer to alleviate downtown flooding in 100-year rain events. This is where answers become unclear. Downtown Jeffrsonville, 10th and Spring, 8th and Ohio are drainage basins for a roughly 400 acre tract that drains to those spots in combined sewer lines. THERE IS NO PLAN TO SEPARATE STORM AND SANITARY SEWER LINES IN THIS AREA TO A SCOPE THAT MAKES THE CANAL REASONABLE. Ok

  12. The information about the canal spread by the proponents (Galligan and supporters) were basically lies and lies by omission.

They would never give an accurate or real price... conveniently omitting the prices for bridges, upkeep etc. plus their info was that it would satisfy the EPA mandate, alleviate flooding and brings zillions of dollars of economic development...

Sadly it was lies all lies...
