Will Noel Step Down as GOP Chair ??? If Not Why ???

King Jamey I ???
The BatBlog believes Clark Co. sheriff elect Jamey Noel said he would step down from the chairmanship of the Republican party after being elected last November. Here it is March and still no word if Noel will keep his word and step down or continue on as the GOP chair. The BatBlog wants to know reasons Noel might hang on to his position. We here have our opinions but first we have to give Noel a thumbs up for his attacking the drug problem in the Clark Co. jail.

So far there have been a couple of arrests made and changes that are a great start at at least minimizing what was a huge problem at the jail. Something the previous sheriff apparently didn't even attempt to correct...He may have been to busy passing out Clark Co. sheriff's gear to "ladies of the evening" or eating breakfast with NHBSM (Not Honest But Stupid Mike) who knows...but anyway here's the "TOP 10 list of why Noel might not step down.

10. He heard Tom Galligan was switching parties and wants to be GOP chair. Galligan has taken Dem.'s to the dumpster so in the party's best interest Noel will stay on.

9. His wife won't let him

8. King Jamey I has a nice ring to it..

7. He's looked around at other possible GOP candidates and just shook his head Ed Z. , Matt Owen,       Connie Sellers                 * note Sellers and Ed Z. are RINO's (Republican in name only).

6. Stepping down ... "It doesn't pass the smell test"

5, His sister won't let him.

4. He heard that NHBSM (Not Honest But Stupid Mike) was looking for a new breakfast partner since his current partner ex- sheriff  Rodden may be gone for the next 1-3 years.

3. He actually thinks the party or any of the other  GOP candidates can't win a race without him as chairman.

2, Mike  Pence won't let him...

1. His lap dog Matt Owen isn't ready to take over the reins, sometimes Owen tries to think on his own..

  2. I have no idea when Jamey plans to step down as chairman, but I hope he waits until after the 2015 elections. No reason to shake things up in an election year. There are no elections in 2016 which, in my opinion, makes for the perfect time for a transition.

  4. Thanks Brian for checking out the "award winning" BatBlog. Congratulations on your work with the Clark Co. Council and your re-election.

You seem to be one of the "good guys" on our local political scene open, transparent and willing to answer questions a true public servant.

Keep up the good work as the BatBlog will be watching and "staying vigilant"

  5. Noel's track record is pretty good so I would think most party members would be ok with him staying on as chairman.

  6. Agreed Anon. Noel has done a good job as GOP chair and is off to a good start as sheriff.

My only contention would be that the sheriff's position needs full time attention and dedication.

  7. "There are no elections in 2016"..,,,?
President, congress, state offices, general assembly, a Circuit Judge, two commissioners, three at-large council seats, coroner, etc. , etc.
    You are thinking of 2017.

  8. I've heard he can't find anyone who wants to take his place. A few have been asked, but no one wants the reins. He could simply leave it to the precinct committeemen as the democrats did, but that's not Noel's style.

  10. Question for HT. If you are really a democrat, why do you care if they are RINOs or actually Republicans?

  15. My issue with whether or not he stays on as Chairman is that I remember him saying that he would step down when he was elected. Lying is not a trait I would want in my local Sheriff.
