Miss Him Yet ???

Didn't always agree with his politics are policy and he wasn't the sharpest pencil in the presidential box, but he had respect for the office and his position and even his political opponents. Democrat's respected him as well no tweeting, name calling, was honest with the press... just did his job.

Yeah considering the state of things now I miss him...

  1. George W. Bush left this country in a mess. Unemployment high, a war that wasn't needed and other missteps that hurt the the nation. I'm surprised you miss him. I don't.

  2. When you consider our alternative of what we have now...It's a no brainier...

Our allies have no respect and are afraid of what he might do...Britain our strongest ally won't even allow him to speak in front of Parliament...Unheard of...

Bush had his problems and made some bad decisions but at least he was respected as Commander in Chief...Trump not so much...

    1. You are the hypocrite who chastised someone in an earlier thread for name calling.

    2. Libtard...there's a word that conveys meaning about the one who uses it.

I believe I recall that Lisa has a grandchild with an impaired condition.
Perhaps if it was Diatards she would realize how offensive she sounds when
she substitutes this throw off insult for a reasonable comment.

But go on if you want to Lisa. I know that you will anyway.

    5. Again, all anonymous, but I can bet I know at least one of you who hide behind your keyboard. Keep my kids and my grand kids out of your mouth. I did not make up that term but it fits when you describe most liberals. Stick to the issues and stop trying to make it personal, since the playing field is obviously not equal.

    6. Put your big girl panties on, I was not trying to be offensive.

    7. You did not offend me, I just told you to keep my kids and grand kids out of this. Only a low life would bring a child into this discussion. Move along, I am bored with you.

  5. Lisa, I'm a very, very conservative Democrat. Why don't you look up the definition of Libtard if you're not aware of what combination of words it refers to and start referring to Liberals as Liberals. Being the grandfather of a five week old granddaughter with special needs, your use of the word doesn't offend me, it pisses me off!

    1. Well, get on your big boy pants, because I was not trying to be offensive. It amazes me how you Liberals get "offended" only when it suits you.

    2. Lisa, not only do you lack basic human decency, you also lack basic literacy skills. Read above. Brian is conservative! I'll say that I'm not offended nor pissed off at what you say. I feel sorry for you. If you do have a grandchild with special needs and still use any variation of the word "retard" to offend someone, the lack of compassion you show not only your family, but anyone who has a special need is really something to pity. Since you think being anonymous is a reason to attack someone, I'll be the first to tell you that my name is listed, and as the mother of a child with special needs and a special education teacher, please attend the special olympics, Buddy Walk, Shine prom, or any other event that will allow you the opportunity to see that this population brings joy to the world and the labels the world gives them is not an insult. You'd be a better person to try and be more like them. We all would.

    3. Well Ms Aimee, let me enlighten you. I do have a grandchild who is Autistic and my son is a Type 1 Diabetic. I am sure that that they are not offended by the word Libtard. If anything, my son probably agrees with me. My grandchild is confident and highly intelligent and would not mind if someone called him a retard because his mother (my daughter) have raised her children to be confident and not thin-skinned. I care very much for special needs individuals and have dedicated my life to helping children of abuse/neglect, not to mention those who are addicted to alcohol and/or drugs. Just because I don't find a term offensive in no way determines my caring ability. So here is the thing, get off your high horse and leave the judgments to God. This is and always has been a silly blog, yet fun and informative and if you are going to be so sensitive, maybe you should consider staying off of social media. Brian said he was a "conservative" Democrat. Which in my opinion (yes I said 'my') opinion is the same thing as a Liberal.

    4. Lisa, I don't think you're getting it. It's not whether you or your grandchild is offended by the word 'retard'. It's whether you have the compassion and empathy to understand that it's not a word that is meant to be used as an insult. Being born as 'mentally retarded', or the more of term 'cognitive disabled', is not something a person can choose. Also, autism is not a cognitive impairment. It has its own label in the DSM manual. As for type 1 diabetes, that doesn't even factor into this so I'm not sure why you mentioned it. You can go on and on about how much you care about individuals with special needs, but seeing as how you can't even refrain from using the word 'retard' or a variation of it as an insult your argument is null and void. Good day, and let me know if you would ever like to attend an event with people who don't like being used as a way to insult other people's bad decisions. I think it would do you well. I'm

    5. No worries, I get where you are coming from, you are a teacher and that makes you a know-it-all. As far as ? why I mentioned my son's disability, speaks volumes. I guess we will have to agree to disagree. You may want to refrain from evaluating someone unless you have a chance to meet them face to face. Also, using the term moron can also be very insensitive if you are going to be judging. Just saying.

    6. Being a teacher doesn't make me a "know it all". However, going to college for a degree in special education does tend to make it easier for me to know about things such as IDEA and the like. It doesn't take a college degree though to know that diabetes shouldn't even be brought up in this discussion because the word "retard" would be used to insult a person with a cognitive impairment, which diabetes clearly is not. Also, I never said the word moron, so there goes that lack of basic literacy I mentioned earlier. I'm not sure if you are having an issue with reading the words or your comprehension skills are just lacking. Nevertheless, I do think there are many words out there that can be used to insult or describe a person. If the best you can come up with is the word "retard" or some other variation, you are just showing your own lack of education as well as understanding and tolerance. Let me know if you're ever interested in seeing first hand how great this population is.

    7. "Thanks to Rihanna's new fashion line, you can easily look like a moron for only $150." (Just hate having to prove someone wrong). Anyway, if you think the only type of child that has to endure hurt or prejudices are ones who are mentally challenged, you need more education. My son endured much from uninformed people such as yourself when he was a student at Thomas Jefferson. But I am not going to keep debating this with you. For years, the word "retarded" (at least in my house growing up) meant someone acting silly. I really don't care if you believe that or not. My point is, I would never reference it to someone (especially a child) who is mentally challenged. If the word offends you, then don't use it. But I am not playing the politically correct game that you Liberals play when it suits you. You can keep insulting my intelligence or call me uncaring, you don't know me except on this blog so you have no idea the type of person I am or what I am passionate about. Let's end this now, I am sure others are tired of our back and forth. If you want to further this discussion you can email me at Indiana.girl@twc.com. A blog called the "Batblog" is certainly not a place that I want to get this serious on. You have a good day now.

    8. Where did that "moron" quote come from? I don't see it here.

    9. I have no idea where that Rihanna quote came from, but being a moron is a choice. It's not a diagnosis. I also am not interested in what definition you have the word "retard" in your house growing up. I would hope you've finished growing up and now understand that mental retardation used to be an official diagnosis and not just something you can make up a definition for and insult someone with. Here's an idea: when someone is being silly, use the word silly. That being said, I'm bowing out to leave you to continue being the delightful person you are and for me to just look at my beautiful daughter with Down syndrome, who is going to make a difference with how amazing she is.

    10. Here's wishing congratulations and all the best with your beautiful new daughter. Thanks for contributing your thoughts on a sensitive subject. I can understand how this is so upsetting for this derogatory term. Hope you can contribute more on occasion hopefully on a more positive subject.

    11. I am delightful, thank you. Just like everyone who has a child or grandchild with any type of disability, we get passionate about it like never before. Just don't be so sanctimonious when you want to educate others, I promise it will be received better. I also congratulate you on your daughter, all children are special no matter what their cognitive abilities.

    12. This is exactly why I took a few years off when it came to commenting on this blog and forums because someone is always ready to jump your ass when you don't agree with them. Seems nothing has changed, so I will just go back into not participating. Can't say I didn't try.

    13. Thank you HT. I will always advocate for my daughter and all individuals with special needs. Luckily most people seem to understand that change can be a good thing and want to always try and make themselves better people. Keep up the good work on your blog!

    14. Maybe it's better you don't participate as you seem to be too thin skinned to accept any criticism.

You brought up name calling of another poster yet reverted to it yourself.

You're always welcome to participate but if you choose not to I understand...JMO

    15. I have never considered myself thin-skinned, but perhaps in certain situations I am. I have become much more tolerant over these past couple of years, but I guess I get irritated when people ASSume to know all about me by saying one word they don't like. Like I said before, maybe its just the approach. I will just be more selective on what I comment on so as to not offend someone.

  6. I guess that was aimed at me... No didn't label Kellyanne Conway a "bimbo" because "she is not a liberal."

Her words and actions have proven my point... her "alternative facts" statement, her blind approval of EVERYTHING Trump says or does, her imaginary terrorist attack in Bowling Green Ky., her statement that the U.S. government can bug your microwave.

She may have a paper that says she's highly educated, but you sure couldn't tell it...
No there are bimbos of all persuasions and Conway fits the description to a tee...

  7. So does Hillary dodging imaginary bullets quality her as a bimbo???

    ReplyDelete
  8. Perhaps when she was asked if she had wiped her server and she said "what, with a paper towel or something " would qualify her for bimbo status?

    1. Kim Kardashian has a net worth of 150 million. Honey Boo Boo and Mama June are worth a couple of million. In America you can make tons of money if you're willing to make a huge spectacle of yourself. Money alone isn't necessarily an indicator of knowledge, wisdom or work ethic, but it can be an indicator of how low you are willing to go.

    2. Yeah I suppose she is a rich "bimbo"... Trump is notorious for paying his "bimbos" well...nothing new with this.

      Delete
    3. Can't believe I am saying this, but I have to agree with cindiloohoo when it comes to some who make millions and it makes you wonder what hollywood is willing to pay for these days. I have a problem with any woman coming across as flighty, I will admit I got to the point I could not stand to listen to Sarah Palin. Maybe its just getting older, but I like strong women, and those not afraid to go against the grain.

  11. Valid points but you must admit that Miss Conway did not make her money doing porn or reality TV, so those are not valid comparisons. Hillary is rich also, so would you apply the same logic to her? I'm just saying you don't seem to be given Kellyanne any credit for being an intelligent woman in earning her money the right way but you would gladly go out and get that same credit to Hillary
