Anyone Else Heard This Rumor About John Perkins ???

From an anonymous poster....

Anonymous said...
Rumor has it that Perkins will back in another County office next year. If a certain democrat wins one of the offices being contested in November, word is that the democrat will step aside early in the term after taking office and the powers controlling the democrat party will appoint Perkins to assume the office, basically the same way he was appointed county commissioner.

Surely this is just a ridiculous rumor....Anybody else heard this ??  What office ?? Do you have anymore
information Anon?  I can't believe the Dem. party would be foolish enough to appoint "Toxic John" anything again, the man is a pariah to voters. Hell he hasn't won an election in 25 years and the only thing he's ever been elected to is a city council seat. If it's true I'm done with the Dem. party in Clark Co. and so will a lot of others....

  1. HT...as much as you hate Toxic John, the fact is that actually knows how to make government work better than 90 percent of the office holders going. Can you set aside your scorn for five minutes and consider that even TOXIC JOHN has some good in him and that good can be put to a good use? Most recently he privately went after the River Ridge contract to enforce payments to the county that appear to be due. C'mon...fair is fair. I have no idea if the rumor you cite has a grain of truth or not...but its a stone fact that he could be of good use in almost any office.

  2. First of all I don't "hate" John Perkins.I just think he's a self centered, lousy politician. John may know more about how government operates than any one here locally, but if you don't use that knowledge to benefit the people it is totally useless.

On more than one occasion he has used his position for personal gain. The public has showed at the election box they want no more of "Toxic John" time and time again...and if the Dem. party keeps appointing him they are thumbing their noses at the electorate and that is not how are system is supposed to work...

  3. Finally the deal with River Ridge...I'm pretty sure Perkins doesn't have the support of the electorate on this just another example of how it's all about him...

  5. Is he not able to be employed in the private sector so he must rely on all his buddies to keep him on the taxpayer dole?

  6. Has he ever held a steady job in the private sector?

  8. I have heard the same rumors with two different parts. The meat of what I have heard is that if the Dem candidate for auditor wins the race against Monty Snelling that they will resign early in the term. Then John will be caucused in to office. The other part is that if Susan Popp wins the County Clerks position john will be placed in her position.

These are just the rumors I have heard. I can not believe that the Dems would want to shoot themselves in the foot like that. Then again stranger things have happened in Clark County.

  9. My prediction is Dustin White will be chair in 2018 if the democrats caucus him in.

  10. Perry McCall is running for Auditor for the Dems. He isn't going to quit for Perkins.

  11. I just wanted to say while I'll allow rumors on here, just take them with a grain of salt. They are just rumors and sometimes rumors are started to help an opposing candidate.

Example if anyone actually thought either Susan Popp or Perry Mc Call would give up their seat for Perkins it would hurt their candidacy.

Not saying or accusing that the anonymous who posted the rumor is a Snelling backer but these things do happen....

Personally I have serious doubts that either McCall or Popp would do such a thing as a matter of fact I'll say it's totally untrue..

So have fun with the rumors but until you actually hear from a particular candidate confirming or denying it, treat it as such..

I feel Perkins is done as a candidate here in CC and the Dem.s will be prudent to not appoint him to anything but then again this is Clark Co....

  12. I have heard no negatives about the job the current auditor is doing so I don't know why we need to change.

  13. It's not that Susan Popp will give Perkins the clerk's position.

The rumor is that the dems will caucus Perkins into her council seat should she win clerk.

I say, the Republicans should LOVE for the Democrats to do that. ;-)

  14. Yeah Tina that makes a lot more sense, Perkins penciled in to replace a vacant seat created by being elected to another position.

Still it's wrong the voters have proven time and time again they want no part of "Toxic " John....
