Clark Co. Commissioner "Toxic" John Perkins once again proved why he is so reviled by local voters.
In an attempt we suppose to try to prove his concern about the Clark Co. budget problems Perkins hired an attorney to look into possibly suing River Ridge over excess funds Perkins thinks might be due to the county. The only thing is less than a week later, Perkins voted to retain his girlfriend as the insurance agent of record for Clark Co., which would have cost the county $66,000 more. Which included commission fees for his girlfriend 4 times the industry standard.
Sorry John but you can't have it both ways, on one hand being concerned a citizen who is looking on his own to help the county budget crunch, but on the other hand wanting to line your girlfriend's pocket with excessive commission's at the County's expense.....How do you spell hypocrite ??? In Clark Co. it looks like P-E-R-K-I-N-S
The BatBlog has obtained a copy of an interview where Perkins explains why he is a Democrat....Considering the circumstances recently his answer is simply..... amazing
Only in Clark County can have a politician know one wants still in a position of importance.

ReplyDeleteRumor is he knows how to "shake down" support so I'm guessing it's by strong arm tactics and by party leaders who think that makes him highly effective and the best. (based on $$$)

ReplyDeleteThe reason Perkins got this plum position is the good ole boy clique of dinosaurs in the Dem. party can control the Dem. caucus.
Nobody thinks being precinct committeeman/woman is important but they are important positions...if you look, the same old faces hold a lot of these positions...
and that's how a chosen few can place guys like Perkins in a position of power that he doesn't have a prayer of winning in a general election...
Until good Democrats get off their collective asses and run for these precinct jobs... you'll see these old , washed up dinosaurs in positions of power like Galligan and Perkins...
It's sad but true that a few can manipulate the party the way they have and that's why the GOP has kicked the Dem's asses lately...
Much like a very few chosen ones rule Clark Co. Government.
ReplyDeletePate and Botoroff are just as much the problem. How many empty precincts had delegates appointed that they knew would vote for Galligan over White?
ReplyDeleteSomeone with a curiousity could go find the 2010 Precinct Committeemen filings and from there see how many of Galligan's votes were from appointees who simply did what they were told?
Both parties need to flush any well known names from PC spots.
You're right Anon. the precinct jobs have been used for years to manipulate the system, the Dem.s much more than the GOP. That's how you get guys who couldn't be elected dog catcher in important positions and guys running the party that are washed up in politics but too old, stupid and egotistical to admit it and it's hurting the party....Dem.s that is

ReplyDeletePerkins move was just a publicity stunt to try and make himself look good. If he really wants to help the county he should resign and go away forever.
