Another Sore Loser ???

While not disparaging winning mayoral candidate Mike Moore like Tom Galligan did four years ago loser Dennis Julius has been curiously quiet since his defeat. No thank yous to his supporters on his "Julius for Mayor" Facebook site, and closing out his personal facebook account. Did he congratulate Moore ??? Did "Moe" Zastawny, Sellers or Smith congratulate the mayor ???

It would be nice if the losing candidates would be more gracious in defeat ...congratulate the winners and concentrate on moving on and working together for the betterment of the City....but don't hold your breath....

  1. What would you expect Julius is a Galligan clone and Galligan's hand picked boy. Monkey see Monkey do.

  2. Yeah Democrats might have won with a candidate with less ties to TG. TG would have none of putting up anyone but Julius so it's what it is, and another beatdown under TG's leadership. Democrats getting used to being the whipped pups by the GOP...Galligan needs to go....

  3. Moore would have been a sore loser too had he lost.

  4. I agree Anon. and that is one of the things about politics in this city... the common good takes second place to political jealousies and games.

  5. There is no profit in congratulations.

  6. It has become a false effort to make excuses for Dennis Julius that he is a nice person who unfortunately accepted bad political and legal advice over the last several years when he has still not extended the basic courtesy of a concession and congratulatory message. It is a measure of moral character and integrity.

  7. Julius is a loser so I don't much care what he does or doesn't do. Hopefully, he is gone for the immediate future and all his 'downtonw' flunkies. Times are changing. Josh Rodriquez and other young Dems are the future..including Keith Fetz who, like it or not, will be back.

Julius was a sad substitute and it is sad to see that people thought he could win
against Moore when Jeff is booming better than ever. Really? You gonna change horses
on that? Moore didn't do it.. but he enjoys being the guy there when it all came to
pass. A bitter pill for Galligan. (who deserves more credit than he gets on this blog)

That's politics baby. Meanwhile, Look forward to Callie Jahn and Matt Owen whose combined age doesn't match Moore's, will be in charge of your city. Good luck with that dumb asses!

  8. Tom Galligan did not hand pick DJ. He wanted to run himself. But his friends told him not too.

  9. The BatBlog stands behind it's sources, Julius was hand picked by TG. Galligan thought he would turn the reins over to DJ after 2015... but Moore beat him...Knowing he couldn't beat Moore TG turned to Julius and the rest is history...

The Democratic caucus made up of old, old Democrats turned the party over to Galligan by naming him chair, his manipulation of candidates and non candidates has put the party right into a shit hole where it will remain until he steps aside...

  10. Agree, not thrilled with our choices here, but it says a lot that there wasn't even a concession or phone call, just another entitled Dem who won't grow up.

Voters of Jeffersonville made the right choice.

  11. Julius spent the last 4 years campaigning and thought he would win. It has to be a letdown to him but he should have least thanked his supporters publically.

  12. Voters did make the right choice...Julius is an arrogant, smug opportunist who like Galligan has IMO benefited his family's businesses at the expense of local taxpayers. Again in IMO their candidacy and office holding was more self serving than being public servants.

The whole hiring and contract work performed needs greater transparency and tighter regulations it has been and will continue to be manipulated without the needed legislation or ordinances...

  13. HT, you are mistaken. Galligan was going to run until he was advised not to. Why would he run against his hand picked successor?

  14. Galligan's self inflated ego is blind to the rank in file Democrats. I'm sure he wanted to run after Moore beat his ass, he thought he would win in 2011 then Julius would take over...

Those who advised him not to run for mayor should do us Democrats a favor give him a plaque and advise him to retire as Dem. chair and politics completely...he's killing us and every Democratic candidate's chance to win an election...
