Everybody Doesn't Love A Parade...

Seems like some of the folks on the Clark County Chatter don't like a parade, especially a Gay pride parade..... like the one proposed by a local student this coming June in Jeffersonville. The BatBlog thinks the proposed parade is a great idea,,,, a way for gay area residents to share and celebrate their lifestyles and culture.

The young student trying to put together the event seems like a very perceptive, intelligent young man wanting everyone to learn and celebrate  the gay lifestyle so as to bring about awareness where we can all live together without discrimination, distrust and hatred. Which is a great goal to try and attain in this diverse new world....

Wouldn't it be nice to see Quasar and Oldgoat in pink chiffon plumed outfits walking hand in hand with the gay community in the parade...and to better educate others ,Jeff could also have a redneck, wingnut appreciation day for others to better understand them as well...

Everybody Loves a Parade....

  1. The Str8 guys that protest the loudest, are usually the one's that have their legs up highest. I have found in Kentuckian, this is true.

  4. I don't understand the intolerance people show toward gay people. We have festivals for ethnic groups all the time celebrating their cultures...So why not gays who love to parade, dress outlandishly and have a good time...What's wrong with that ???

We have parades for the Irish, Independence, veterans etc.

    Parade On !!!

  5. By the way no one will hold a gun up to your head forcing you to attend...

    1. Exactly... My business and our partners plan to support the cause and participate in the festivities. Just curious what your Mayor thinks about this? I know for a fact Mr. Moore isn't gay friendly unless it is election time.

  6. Like it or not he is OUR mayor....and nearly all politicians are only friendly during elections..... try cozing up to Julius now the election is over.

... and that is one of the problems.
Everyone wants to celebrate their differences. (culture, race, ethnicity)
Everyone wants to be a (fill in the blank)-American.
Everyone wants to be "special". Not equal rights ... "special" rights.

I, myself, am a Mongrel-American and damned proud of it.
This country was meant to be a 'melting pot', not a 'grab bag'.
    Rant over ... carry on.

  8. Leave Moore alone. He is HT's revenge on the previous mayor because the little baby was in the way of the canal and is home was annexed. Thus we must support Moore no matter what his views are.

  9. I hear you RF, it's no big deal really one way or another. I have no problem though with those who celebrate their heritage or lifestyle. If GLB's want to have a parade...no big deal, some of us "Mongerel- Americans" might even learn something...

  10. Not this one. I've had gay friends and relatives since college.
    (probably earlier without knowing it)
I AM NOT tolerant. I am accepting of others as they are.
I don't care about anyone's sex life or gender. NMP
I just don't see how emphasizing differences furthers the
agenda of acceptance. Seems ass backwards to me.

  11. I bet that young fellow is sorry he ever tried to reach out to the CCC!

  12. The posters on the CCC want nothing more than for this young man to go back in his closet. How dare for him to come on their hallowed grounds and seek justice and change within the community.

He is a young man, for crying out loud, that experiences bigotry and hatred first hand and seeks a world where those words and deeds would not exist against anyone.

I wish this young man well in his efforts. BTW, I am an elderly person that at one time thought that it was okay to hate a homosexual. After all I was taught this in the Church I once belonged to. I am happy to say that I learned to think for myself and not rely on the "Church Leaders" to teach me what to think.

Hatred is a much greater sin and the only thing that can wash away hatred is love. Folks, start loving and stop hating. Trust me you and the world will be much better off.

  13. Well WAAAAAAH!
I'm afraid that HE is the bigot in this situation.

    "bigot noun
    1. a person who is utterly intolerant of any differing creed,
    belief, or opinion."

  14. I got curious about who Evan is and did a Google. I found this video he produced on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rzkPIZrjjeU

Evan is a remarkable young person that is seeking to dream the impossible dream. Kind of like Rosa Parks when she dreamed to be treated the same.

Like I said above folks hatred is wrong. Love will win over Hate and for that there ain't no debate.

Best wishes to Evan and his quest for every human to be treated the same.

  15. Currently the county is trying to fund a needle exchange program designed to reduce the spread of HIV in our community, here we have a young man that promotes activity that is known to spread HIV. Is this really the type of activity we should be promoting?

    ReplyDelete
  16. You see, right here is the reason we need a gay pride parade, Evan is not promoting anything that would spread HIV. HIV is spread by unprotected sex... any kind, gay straight, whatever. Having a parade, and maybe talking about this is educational.
